Crypto-society

A crypto society is an encrypted virtual community. It is nearly impossible to create a "real" crypto-society as it would take too much time and resources to encrypt all the human to human interactions. Therefor, nearly all encrypted communities is hosted on the internet with computers helping the users to encrypt their interactions with each other.

Usually, such communities employ public key cryptography to make sure that their users can speak freely with eachother without the possibility that anyone else eavesdrops their conversation. Most often, it is also possible to hide your own identiy so that noone can know whom you are.
