Moderation in all things, even Wikipedia.
Beware that moment when you think yourself wise, for you may have just become a fool.
And you will find someday that, after all, it isn’t as horrible as it looks.
If you want to know what makes you unique, sit for a caricature.

"assume the assumption of good faith"
Thank you for quality articles such as Beara Peninsula and Regina Ullmann, for translations from German and checking those of others, for welcoming hundreds of users, for "being a plain and simple janitor", for service from 2004, following old values, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
Things to keep in mind when editing hereabouts, and some titbits about me and my "wikilosophy"
Remember: Wikilove,Wikiquette, no personal attacks and civility
Always assume good faith and even assume the assumption of good faith, try to edit maintaining a NPOV (I know it's difficult, but make a real effort). And stay away from articles you have a very strong feeling about, may it be good or bad. So, essentially, stay calm.
I couldn't fail to notice that sometimes a little Temperance and, even more so, Tolerance can be real virtues...Be bold, but not reckless.
I see the role of administrator here as being a plain and simple janitor, implementing the existing policies to the best of his abilities. This does not mean that I have no personal opinion, but it rarely, if at all, plays a role in my decisions (that is what I make myself believe, anyway). Everything an admin does in his function should be in line with consensus, so if I make a judgement (and that is what we get not-paid for), I should be able to predict, somewhat reliably, what consensus would say. The tools we are given by the community are, in short, solely for converting this in some cases ethereal, flimsy and volatile concept of consensus into action. If you are not sure about it, don't do it.
For other admins: I do not particularly mind if my decisions as an admin are overturned, but if you do so, leave me a ping on my talkpage, please.
Something so true for admins, worth looking at once in a while: Wikipedia:What you won't learn in new admin school.
And something so much true for everybody: Wikipedia is a volunteer service. This means: YOU ARE A VOLUNTEER TOO! Keep that in mind especially while voting on WP:RFA, and actually everywhere else.
I had a little break from adminship when I resigned in protest of the WMF's overreach in the Fram affair. Gives new perspective.
