The Judybats

The Judybats were an alternative rock band from Knoxville, Tennessee in the late 1980s and early 1990s. More recently, frontman Jeff Heiskell has revived the band; as a result, their album 2000 was released. The new album took a different route than their previously-dubbed "hillbilly disco" offerings. Another EP, entitled Six Pack of Tracks, was released after the 2000 LP.

The Judybats paved the way for Adult Alternative radio audiences with top ten hits on the AAA radio format. The six original members joined together in 1987 at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. They were signed in 1990 and went on to create two records with Richard Gotterher of "My Boyfriend's Back" fame. The band is most remembered for "Being Simple," an almost top forty hit and (hair) stylish "All I Wanna Do Is F@#$ Your Hair" which appeared as a B side on the "Daylight" maxi-single.
