White-thighed surili range

The white-thighed surili (Presbytis siamensis) is a species of primate in which descends from the family of old world monkeys (Cercopithecidae). This species lives arboreal amongst the sub-montane forests.[2] It is endemic to the Thai-Malay Peninsula, the Riau Archipelago and Sumatra.[1] Four subspecies, siamensis (nominate), cana, paenulata and rhionis, are recognized here,[3] but the taxonomy is disputed and in need of a review,[1][4] and it has included P. natunae as a subspecies, or alternatively both have been considered subspecies of P. femoralis.[3]. They are characterized by the white patches located on the outside of their legs, which is what gives them their name.[5] Additionally, they can be called pale-thighed langur/surili.[5]
