"Runaway" is the lead single and the first track on the EP Running with the Wolves and on the album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend by Aurora. It was written by Aurora and Magnus Skylstad and produced by Odd Martin Skålnes and Skylstad. On February 7, 2015 the song was officially released worldwide.

The track was received positively by various online music blogs and national press such as the NME.[citation needed] The demo of the song was leaked in late 2015.

About the song

Aurora wrote this when she was 11 or 12. It's a song about escape and "realizing you want to get home again." In an interview with The 405 she said: "It's strange how this song fits my life better now that I could ever imagine when I wrote the song itself. It's about how important it is to have a soft place to fall".[1]

For her, it is a song about the actual home where her parents live.

Music video

A music video for the song was released on February 26, 2015. It was directed by Kenny McCracken.

Singer and songwriter Billie Eilish credits the video of this song as one of the reasons she began working on music.[2]
