Citation
Not sure what I need to do for the citation, is it enough to list the books where I got the information from, or do I need to provide quotes? 86.5.7.168 13:17, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm not an expert on how to do this, but I guess a link is the best way. The stuff on Daniel Attenborough worried, me as Wikipedia could get into hot water over unfounded accusations. I'm not saying they're not true, but better safe than sorry. Bevo74 13:37, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
OK thanks, it was all over the local press at the time so I should be able to find a link somewhere, even if it is just to the local paper or news station. 86.5.7.168 15:10, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Henry Ireton
I've added a link showing he did live in the village. [1] There is a plaque in the village commerating him, so he is pretty significant to a small village, the residents obviously think he is. It seems that someone won't accept the references about the history of the village for some reason. My link will hopefully placate them, I'll have a further read later. As no direct link was forthcoming the stuff about Daniel Attenborough shouldn't be put back in. It's good so see that so many new Wikipedians are taking in an interest in the village. In reply to Ahoerstemier's question Ireton is mentions on Trinity College, Oxford page. If you want to discuss things the talk page is the best place, not the edit summary. Bevo74 08:23, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Torvill and Dean?
I am guessing that Rotund, Ahoerstemier and Prince123 are all the same person and that they have taken umbrage at the remarks about local people. Surely there can't be this many people interested in the history of Attenborough?
Torvill and Dean first skated together at the Nottingham Ice Rink and as far as I know, there isn't a village pond in Attenborough. 86.5.7.168
Just to clarify, the above comment was by 86.5.7.168, not be me. Ram4eva 18:16, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Bev074 who has been blocked for impersonating, was probably the same person as well. Ram4eva 21:41, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
I have removed the following statement as this clearly conflicts with the the history that the church has published on http://southwellchurches.nottingham.ac.uk/a02/hhistory.html
Building work on St. Mary's Church started in 906 AD and finished in 909 AD.[citation needed]
"Private School"
As an ex-pupil c1957-61, the 'private school' referred to closed in about 2010. It has been reincarnated at both the 'Big School' and the 'Little School' as a children's day nursery (www.attenboroughdn.co.uk). I must add I have no connection and this correction is purely for accuracy. What would Miss Lake and Mrs Frettingham think?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Longfinal (talk • contribs) 23:12, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

"Private School": supplementary
The initial section about Attenborough Prep closing seems to have been lifted wholesale from the TES. I am intrigued as to where the '100 years' comes from. Can anyone elucidate this longevity claim? I suspect the time span is probably nearer 60-65 years by the time it finally closed in 2010. I base this suggested span on the Tennis Pavilion being comparatively modern and the 'big School' being previously the Village Hall.(The present Village Hall I would think was built in the 50s as it was around when I was at the school starting in '57.) Unless the school had another home prior to the Village Hall being used, 100 years seems a little out. Longfinal (talk) 17:16, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
