Disambiguation link notification for August 26
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Peter Truscott, Baron Truscott, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Department of Trade and Industry (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:05, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
Peerage is not a proper noun
Hello.
Thanks for your edits, but please stop introducing miscapitalizations and redirects into peerage articles. "Peerage" is not a proper noun, and so should not be capitalized. For avoiding linking to redirects, see the "apple" example in Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking#Style.
Incorrect: [[Hereditary Peerage]]
Correct: [[Hereditary peer]]age
Thanks

- Pleas stop immediately, and read WP:BRD. B = Bold edit, R = Revert, D = Discuss. You edited, your edit was reverted, now you're supposed to DISCUSS, not revert back. Got it? HandsomeFella (talk) 15:41, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- Stop your stupid capitalization changes - and communicate with other editors! HandsomeFella (talk) 07:16, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Julian Smith (politician). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:31, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

- Given
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury is a junior ministerial position in the British Government. However, the office is now attached to the Treasury in name only. The holder is usually the Chief Whip of the House of Commons. The office can be seen as a sinecure, allowing the Chief Whip to draw a government salary, attend Cabinet, and use a Downing Street residence.
- it may be that your edits are in good faith. If you had used edit notes to explain what you were doing and why, they might have been taken more seriously. Your attention was already drawn to this issuePlease note that Chief Whip is the primary role, PS to the Treasury is just an honorarium so that the post holder gets some extra salary. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:58, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Edit notes
Which part of "please use edit notes" did you not understand? Now please read wp:DISRUPT because your habit is a good example of the sort of behaviour that the article describes. If you are doing multiple similar edits, it is not difficult to paste the same edit note too. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 08:33, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
