"Comparison of AAS" tables

In § Comparison of AAS, the three collapsable tables are quite large and raw-data-heavy, so I'm glad they are default collapsed. However, they are intrinsically wide, so they are hard to read on narrow monitors. The first two columns of the first table are named "Compound" and "Class", the first two columns of the second table are named "Compound" and "Chemical name", and the first column of the third table is named "Steroid". For the first, I don't think having a "Chemical name" column, which is a synonym for the "Compound" column is useful. If someone wants to know chemical details about a chemical, each first-column entry is a bluelink. Is it useful to have the "Class" for the second table? While not as redundant as Compound name, it still seems like one would just follow the bluelink if one cares about this type of information. I don't see surrounding content that discusses this set of data in relationship to these classes. Comparing the third table to the first and second, it seems inconsistent to use "Compound" vs "Steroid" for the same meaning (unless some of the formers' are not steroids and we want to emphasize that point). I added a lot of uses for anabolic steroids to the uses section. It was extremely thin for so many medical uses of anabolic steroids for men, women, and children of various degrees of ailment

Most of this information was taken from the articles for the anabolic steroids Methyltestosterone and Oxandrolone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:46:200:5671:55BB:3CF3:37DE:7544 (talk) 11:44, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Anabolic steroid

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Anabolic steroid's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 09:11, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm concerned about this article, given that its topic is poorly defined. If a standalone article on "drug abuse" is to exist, it needs to have a coherent definition that is distinct from negative value judgement of drug use or using a drug that is illegal. Since the dictionary definition of "abuse" is "the improper use of something", it's hard to see how an article under this title can satisfy WP:IMPARTIAL. The article is currently a grab bag of different topics, such as motivations for AAS use, illegal use, and possible potential for dependency, which has nothing to do with its legality. If there is significant good content from the article to be kept, I would say that splitting it and clarifying the scope of each article with a clear and non-judgmental title is another possibility. I am considering splitting the new "Anabolic Steroid Family Tree" figure I added yesterday into 3 smaller sub-figures. This would make the images higher resolution and easier to understand. Any suggestions? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by McBiophysics (talkcontribs) 11:42, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the original chart by splitting it into three different images. The resolution is better and the color coordination makes the gallery straightforward to understand for someone new to the topic. McBiophysics (talk) 01:17, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
