MSHA Sampling for Black Lung
As noted in Title 30 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 70: "Mandatory Health Standards--Underground Coal Mines," The Mine Health and Safety Administration is taking steps to monitor and reduce miners' exposure to coal dust. Would be nice to see that reflected in the article. I'm iffy about editing myself, though I may later if I gain confidence to do it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.224.105.103 (talk) 08:40, 20 September 2019 (UTC)
Lay expert.
Does this really need a citation tag? Id be happier seeing it removed. Simply because, well, being a lay expert would basically require no one to have deemed you an actual expert, which by definition would mean theres no source to it. I honestly cant recall ever seeing that phrase dealt with on wikipedia before. 74.132.249.206 (talk) 18:29, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Signs & Symptoms
Exertional dyspnea, productive cough with inky-black sputum, and recurrent respiratory infections are common symptoms. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ridgeside01 (talk • contribs) 23:20, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

Biased
It appears this page is heavily biased in favor of the coal industry. It would be nice if someone could please take a few minutes and clean it up. Ahraaar (talk) 13:01, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Coalworker's pneumoconiosis → Black lung disease – This is the WP:COMMONNAME Iamreallygoodatcheckerst@lk 03:13, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nominator's reason. --Killuminator (talk) 14:40, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Support. WP:MEDTITLE emphasizes that the
scientific or recognised medical name
should be preferred to colloquial names. I checked Google Scholar results (2010–present) for"black lung" disease
andcoalworker's pneumoconiosis
and obtained comparable numbers for each; given that there's no clear common name among the scholarly sources, I think it's best to use the general-usage WP:COMMONNAME as the tiebreaking factor. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 17:04, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
