A couple of unclear passages:
- "At the foundation, "EE" was used by Euskadiko Ezkerra." This sentence seems unrelated to what is around it. What is the point here?
- "After the breakup of Euskadiko Ezkerra, EA picked the dissidents grouped in Euskal Ezkerra." I literally don't understand what this means. Could someone try rewording it?
- EE split into Euskadiko Ezkerra (they received the rights to the name) and Euskal Ezkerra (EuE). EuE later integrated into EA. -- Error 01:41, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
In both cases, if it's easier for you to explain in Spanish than English, that's fine, I'll translate. -- Jmabel | Talk 00:55, Oct 23, 2004 (UTC)
Name of article
I have moved this from this illiterate "Basque Solidatrity". However, I believe it belongs at its old title of Eusko Alkartasuna. It was moved without comment by Gangulf, who has had no hand in writing it. While I believe (based on various sources) that this is a correct translation of the name it is not a common name for the organization. Even in English, it is usually known by its Basque name.
I don't want an edit war, so I will give Gangulf some time to respond. -- Jmabel | Talk 23:35, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Neither do I. There is a more or less consensus (seeing the debate on diverse talk pages on parties) that Wikipedia should list party names (names of organizations) in English, but with the exception that if names of parties are usually in English known with their native name, the native name is used. Exceptions are e.g. the Quebec, Indian or Israeli parties. There is an argument for the native name in the case of Eusko Alkartasuna. So if you wnat to change it back, I do not mind. --Gangulf 06:57, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Google (well, Yahoo, actually) seems to confirm this. I get:
- 1,170 for "Eusko Alkartasuna"
- 446 for "Basque Solidarity"
although I wish I knew some easy way to search just news pages, which I think are the most likely place for people to run across this organization. Noel (talk) 16:25, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
- Basque Solidarity - 1.
- Eusko Alkartasuna - 3.
- But it just searches recent news.

Differences
It seems to me like EA social support is more overtly independentist than PNV's; that, if true at all, could be noted in the article as one more difference.
Also, there should be a Navarre template here, because actually EA's stronghold is there. I would do that myself.... if I wasn't a dummy with frames etc. Mountolive 03:53, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
