First time heel turn

How can we confirm he has gone heel? He attacked Batista who is also a heel and undertaker who is a face. many faces attack other faces, how is he a heel? At the very most he is tweener —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.32.127.46 (talk) 10:28, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Just watched the footage, I think he is still a face. He attacked a heel (Batista) and his opponent (Undertaker) which is not really a heel action. I propose that reference to his heel tun be removed

There's a movie called Wrestlemaniac which has Rey Mysterio "SR." in it. I didn't see this in the article and think it should be added to his TV/Movie Appearances Section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.45.107.75 (talk) 19:21, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

West Coast Pop 2

Rey named his finisher Springboard Seated Senton "West Coast Pop 2". I think it should be added to the article's finishing moves section. Zeggy 557 (talk) 18:31, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Really? I've never heard of that. But if you can provide a reliable source, we'd be glad to include it in the article. Cheers, –LAX 18:52, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

I've found some videos including Micheal Cole calling the move "West Coast Pop 2", but i suppose that now they're calling it just "West Coast Pop" or "Seated Senton". I'm not sure about it. Zeggy 557 (talk) 19:07, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

New Nickname

The Raw announcers have called him the "Latin Warrior" a couple of times. I don't know if it is his official nickname now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.110.70.77 (talk) 20:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Rey's Leg Injury

In the part of the article concerning the "I Quit" match with Chavo Geurrero it says Rey won the match by repeatedly hitting Chavo's injured leg. The correct information is the opposite. Rey Mysterio Jr. is the one with the legitimately injured leg and it was Chavo who won the match by taking advantage of Rey's injury. If you read the article "I Quit Match" and go to the match concering the two, the information is correct.

Please change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisFishA (talkcontribs) 17:51, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Different design of Mask

I have noticed the mask changed for Rey Mysterio. The previous masks covered the whole back of his head, but the last few masks have been more open in the back. I have been wondering why that is. Anyone know? Fantasyleaguer (talk) 14:00, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be Mysterio, not Misterio?

Okay...um, in the article, his name is misspelled a couple of times. Instead of "Mysterio", it's "Misterio". Now I can't edit this article. It seems cluttered to me. Should a Professional Wiki Editor take care of it?

-Tweak95 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.25.74.243 (talk) 00:34, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

No. In WCW and earlier career, his name was spelled Misterio, with an "i". It was changed to Mysterio in WWE. ♥NiciVampireHeart12:29, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

February 23, 2007

This has been bugging me for 2 years now, how come the article doesen't mention Rey Mysterio's return on February 23, 2007? It was the first episode of smackdown I ever watched, and it featured rey Mysterio returning. Rey Mysterio Returned, but then Vince Mcmahon came out with Umaga and attacked him. Why isn't it mentioned? proof:[1] Altenhofen 01:32, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Luchas de Apuestas record issue

I think we should remove these two

Wager lost/wonWinner(s)Loser(s)WhereDateNote
Mask Rey Mysterio Kane Portland, Oregon 10/5/08 -
Mask Rey Mysterio Chris Jericho Sacramento, California 6/28/09 -

because it makes no sense to become one of the records of Luchas de Apuestas. Why, well Rey did put his mask on the line but won by dq when facing Kane, but why do it says that rey beat kane for his mask when he doesn't wear any mask also with chris jericho, it says that rey beat him for his mask. WHAT!!! Rey only retained his mask and didn't won any hair or mask and that's why I think those two should taken out as a record of Luchas de Apuestas. --Wrestling-fantic (talk) 18:13, 4 July 2009 (UTC

I agree. Freebird (talk) 04:16, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

I disagree. A Lucha de Apuestas match is a bet match, Rey was beting his mask in both matches and it can be mask/hair/title/career (See Varients). Yes there is something wrong in that section and it's that the Notes section is empty, Chris Jericho's page has his bet matches with the note section saying his match with Rey was Mask vs Title but Rey's page implies it was a hair vs hair match. The note section needs to be fixed as well as Rey vs Eddie in the mask vs title match Prince Bee (talk) 14:53, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Ahem?

Nowhere in the article does it say why he wears a mask, how he came about choosing to wear a mask, nor why removing it was so painful for him, nor is there anything on the talk page about the lack of information on this subject. His wearing of a mask isn't even mentioned as a signature element of his wrestling persona, aside from suddenly coming up in the unmasking.

...

There's enough crap about every appearance he's ever made in his entire life to make the article almost as long as the article for Shakespeare (minus bibliography), 181 damn references which is at least 100 more than is necessary to cover the guy's career in detail, but you can't manage to stop for a moment and cover anything as important as, say, his mask?

Seriously. Wow. What's the equivalent for "nerd" when applied to wrestling fans? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.83.118.230 (talk) 20:59, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Seriously, tried reading about wrestling masks? He's not the only one who wears one. Tony2Times (talk) 08:38, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

"Early Career" Issues

The first paragraph in the "Early Career" section needs to be edited.

"Born in a hospital, Mysterio was trained by man eating rabbits He debuted as a transvestite on April 30, 1989 at the age of 14 in a small church in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.[3] Technically, he was too young to receive a cock up his ass, but enforcement was generally low. He began a feud with Psicosis using the ring name Colibrí (Spanish for hummingbird). The feud lasted several years, continuing even after Mysterio's career moved to the United States of America.[13]."

The citation note leads to a dead site and the sentence before it is clearly false as well as the one that follows. The rest of this article should be checked for similar blatant errors as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Redertainment (talkcontribs) 03:38, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Considering he was actually unmasked and worked unmasked for a number of years it's actually NOT disrespectful. If he had never been unmasked then yes it would be, but he lost the mask in the ring per Lucha Libre traditions.  MPJ -DK  19:37, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

reduced number of images

I removed a number of images from the article. They were excessive and unneeded. In addition, they were in violation of MOS:IMAGES, which requires that images be relevant not only to the articles subject, but the section in which they are placed. The article now has a sufficient number of images of good quality that illustrate the subject, from far away and upclose, his entrance, masked and unmasked, holding championships relevant to the appropriate sections, and pictures of his moveset also in the appropriate section. I suggest that unless current images meet their lifecycle, no more images be added. Sephiroth storm (talk) 10:43, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Main Picture: why unmasked?

Why is the main picture of Rey unmasked? Number one, Rey's performed with the mask for most of his career right? He would be more recognizable in the mask. Also, Rey wears the mask because he doesn't want his face to be seen. Changing to the main picture to a masked one would also be a a mark of respect? What do you guys think?
