I FOUND THE ARTICLE SCRAMBLED AND TRIED TO CORRECT IT. HOWEVER IT DOES NOT SAVE WHAT IS TYPED IN.

Also on BBC TV in the 1950s

Thanks to whoever wrote this article, but part of the story is missing ... Toytown, Larry and Mr Growser et al were on BBC TV Childrens Hour in the early-to-mid 1950s, when I used to watch it at my grandparents' house (they had a TV).

Until I read this article, I had no idea that the series was still going in the ITV era. I'm surprised it wasn't considered far too dated by then! I don't have the knowledge to expand the article (nor the editing skills even if I had). Please, anyone? Wyresider (talk) 13:29, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

-- "too dated"? Toytown is never "dated"! :-) 31.125.76.2 (talk) 10:22, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

-- Mr. Growser - A disagreeable old gentleman who is always finding things to complain about - usually the behavior of his fellow citizens. His favourite phrase is "It's disgraceful, it ought not to be allowed!"

Mr Growser was my favourite character when I listened to Toytown on the 'wireless'(!). It's a small point and I may be wrong, but I have always remembered his favourite phrase as: "It's a disgrace! It ought not to be allowed!" 31.125.76.2 (talk) 10:22, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
