Hello, I'm Lynn Wysong. I am female, middle-aged, married (I guess these days I need to clarify; married to a man). My specialty is history, particularly of cartography of the Western United States where I have lived all my life and of the Great Basin where I have lived for 35 years. I'm currently working on two research articles, and find Wikipedia to be invaluable, but try to help those that come behind me by correcting and expanding articles that I believe can benefit from the information I've gleaned over the years. I'm not a "Wiki Geek"; I'm just interested in editing articles on subjects in which I have some level of expertise and believe it is worthwhile to pursue providing accurate and comprehensive information. So don't expect me to initiate the GA or FA process (which, from my observation, has led to the nastiest wiki-wars I've seen. The quote on user:WCCasey user page: Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien." (The best [or perfect] is the enemy of the good) - Voltaire is very apt) with articles I edit however, any constructive input and help editing is appreciated.

My other hobbies are: river running and horseback riding with my family; and reading; especially the Outlander series.

Disclosure: As of 4/14/2015, I changed my username per this suggestion. Also, some of my edits are made on a network system that other editors may also presumably use, which would link our IPs. I also infrequently edit from motels, which also may use network systems.
