Disambiguation link notification for August 26
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Peter Truscott, Baron Truscott, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Department of Trade and Industry (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:05, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
Peerage is not a proper noun
Hello.
Thanks for your edits, but please stop introducing miscapitalizations and redirects into peerage articles. "Peerage" is not a proper noun, and so should not be capitalized. For avoiding linking to redirects, see the "apple" example in Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking#Style.
Incorrect: [[Hereditary Peerage]]
Correct: [[Hereditary peer]]age
Thanks

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Julian Smith (politician). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:31, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

- Given
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury is a junior ministerial position in the British Government. However, the office is now attached to the Treasury in name only. The holder is usually the Chief Whip of the House of Commons. The office can be seen as a sinecure, allowing the Chief Whip to draw a government salary, attend Cabinet, and use a Downing Street residence.
- it may be that your edits are in good faith. If you had used edit notes to explain what you were doing and why, they might have been taken more seriously. Your attention was already drawn to this issuePlease note that Chief Whip is the primary role, PS to the Treasury is just an honorarium so that the post holder gets some extra salary. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:58, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Which part of "please use edit notes" did you not understand? Now please read wp:DISRUPT because your habit is a good example of the sort of behaviour that the article describes. Erhan Arıklı moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Erhan Arıklı, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. References
Please ensure that you provide sufficient (in both quality and quantity) sources to support the articles you create. I've just moved two BLPs to drafts, because they only had one single reference each (and those references had been added by another editor, to stop your articles being deleted!). Especially in the case of BLPs, it's very important that every material statement is supported by a source. If you're not familiar with the guidelines, please see WP:V, for starters. Thank you, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:33, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
Copying licensed material requires attribution
Hi. I see in a recent addition to Minister of State for Defence you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible OGL Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 16:13, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

Please don't blank articles
I've reverted the blanking of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Innovation. Should there be a reason to delete an article, please do this via the standard means.
If there is a good reason to blank an article, please indicate this in an edit summary. Otherwise it is not possible to tell if an edit is legitimate or vandalism.

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to First Thatcher ministry while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. ‑‑Neveselbert (mobile) (talk · contribs · email) 13:31, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as David Wolfson, Baron Wolfson of Tredegar. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 20:29, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
