invitation

As an Administrator, you are allowed into #wikimedia-admin, the cross-wiki coordination channel for Wikimedia administrators. Any member of the channel can invite you in temporarily, but you need an invite exemption from a channel operator to get in whenever you want. Please come to #wikimedia and ask for an invite.

Any admin from any project is welcome and it is a good place for cross-wiki coordination of vandal and spam fighting. It is also useful for new admins to contact more experienced admins in real-time to get help with the more complicated admin tasks such as history merges/splits and importing via Special:Import.

Please remember to translate the interface at betawiki: only and to upload images preferably at commons:

Thank you

re:Betawiki and Special:AllMessages

Hello Moon, in response to [1], yes, the local messages here (see special:allmessages) would overwrite the translations made globally on betawiki, You can delete them (make sure You have Your interface language set here to Cornish in Your preferences!) to make the global ones work. Please note that it takes some time (a few days) before the translations made on betawiki will be seen in all wikis. Best regards, --edhen (:> )=| 13:19, 10 Meurth 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. on the right side in special:allmessages You will see the translation, if there is a local version the global one is the upper one in red and the local one is below that in green, if the local version is better than the global one You can update them at betawiki too, best regards, --edhen (:> )=| 13:22, 10 Meurth 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki assistance

Hello Moon (I love saying that ;),

I wanted to commend you on all of the changes you've made to Cornish Wikipedia--it look absolutely wonderful! I haven't had time to make additional articles at the moment, but I wanted to see if you had any higher priority types of articles you wanted to see created before others. Let me know!

V/r --Caponer 12:00, 23 Meurth 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Caponer, thanks for the great start! There's a list of the 1,000 articles that every Wikipedia should have here if you haven't already seen it, having all those articles would push this site up on a few WP rankings so I'm slowly making my way through it, it would be great if you could help out there! Gromercy dhis, --Moon 13:05, 23 Meurth 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please delete Category:Deghow Amerika and Category:Amerika Deghow. Thank you! v/r --Caponer 16:19, 23 Meurth 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done :-) --Moon 16:39, 23 Meurth 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tables

Hey Moon, I tried recreating the table from List of tallest buildings in New York City on Cornish Wikipedia at Rol a dhrehevyansow an uhella yn Cita Ebron Nowyth. Why is it not showing up the same? How can I rectify this? Thanks! --Caponer 23:49, 6 Ebryl 2009 (UTC)

It appears that the Common.css file in the Cornish Wikipedia is missing the wikitable class code that appears in Common.css on en.wikipedia. Cornish Wikipedia needs that code to render the table correctly. Could you please use your powers of good to add this code so that Cornish Wikipedia may utilize all wikitables? --Caponer 01:49, 7 Ebryl 2009 (UTC)
Hi Caponer, I've copied the whole css file over, and the table is working now, although I had to clear my cache to see it. There shouldn't be any more missing styles, but I'm not sure as there's at least one other css file that is used. If you get any more problems just shout. --Moon 11:19, 7 Ebryl 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Moon! You made my day ;) --Caponer 12:03, 8 Ebryl 2009 (UTC)

Nonkilling

Hi! I was wondering if you could help out with a brief translation of the entry on nonkilling [2]. It doesn't need to be whole thing: the first paragraph (or even the first sentence) would do! Thank you! --Cgnk 21:36, 4 Metheven 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of a short story

Hi my friend!

I would like to request something from you. Yes, translation. I hope, it's not a bad thing for you. Some years ago I wrote a (really) short story about a lonely man (actually symbolized the Saami nation). I translated into some languages and I thought, it would be great to have it more, like also in Kernewek :) I made this page, the English translation is somewhere there. You can put the Kernewek translation there. Thank you again! Sorry for my disturb... :( - hu:User:Eino81

Hi! We already have an Irish, a Scottish and a Welsh version, could you make me a Kernewek one? :) :) Thank you! --Eino81 11:38, 2 Gwynngala 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again! As I see, maybe you are the only one, who knows Kernewek well in this Wikipedia :) Yesterday I got a Manx version of my short story, so the Celtic collection is growing. The Kernewek is very important, we all know its history. I hope, if you will have a littel time, you could help me to get a Kernewek translation. --Eino81 09:03, 11 Gwynngala 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, my Cornish isn't good enough to translate your text. Try posting it on www.cornwall24.co.uk, there are Cornish speakers there who can help you. --Moon 11:47, 11 Gwynngala 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Translation request

Hi Moon, would you be so kind to help me translate this article into Cornish? Please. It's about a Chinese philosopher and is listed as one of the articles every Wikipedia should have. If you think that article is too long, here is a short version: "Confucius was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese thought and life. His philosophy emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity." Thanks a lot! --Amaqqut

It's slightly out of my ability but I'll have a go! --Moon 14:15, 7 Du 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Piran/Peran/Perran/Pyran?

Gorthugher da Moon. Fatla genes? Unfortunately I must ask the rest of the question in English. I am currently working on another minority Celtic language project - the Manx wikipedia - and I have decided that I would like to write a very short article on the Cornish Saint Piran. The current agreement in the Gaelic speaking world is to use the native variant of a place or historical figure such as Saint Piran. However, Saint Piran's name is not mentioned by his Cornish variant in the English article and when I came here to see if I could find it I discovered that he is located at Peran but is mentioned as a headword as Pyran Sans (Sans obviously means Saint?). I have also found references to him being spoken of as Sen Perran, Sen Peran etc. Could you advise me as to the correct spelling of the name if at all possible? Kind regards, --MacTire02 22:12, 29 Genver 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hou MacTire, I'm not sure why there are so many forms of his name in use, it could be down to different anglicisations or different periods of Cornish. It seems to be that Pyran was in use until recently, but Peran has now become the accepted form. It would be written without "Sen" as with other Celtic saints. Oll an gwella, --Moon 00:12, 30 Genver 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In the Gaelic languages we do, however, use Naomh (ga, gd) or Noo (gv). Noo Peran it shall be. Meur ras, Moon. --MacTire02 08:53, 30 Genver 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your question at the Welsh Wiki (Wicipedia Cymraeg) has had a response: here. Llywelyn2000 07:15, 12 Gwynngala 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page Deletion

Hi, I noticed that the discussion page for Kernowek is a redirect to nowhere, perhaps this can be deleted? Cheers Zangar 19:52, 10 Whevrel 2011 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for spotting it! --Moon 21:54, 10 Whevrel 2011 (UTC)

Please, could you translate en:Podolsk into Kernewek/Karnuack? Naturally if you have available time!

Good day to you! Could you, please, translate into Kernewek/Karnuack the article, containing two-three sentences, about this city in Russia? I’d like to thank you in advance :)--Переход Артур 19:10, 13 Whevrel 2011 (UTC)
