James Shigeta (June 17, 1933 – July 28, 2014)[1] was an American movie and television actor. He is also a standards singer, musical theatre and nightclub performer, and recording artist. He was known for his role as Joseph Yoshinobu Takagi in Die Hard.

Shigeta died in his sleep in Los Angeles, California from unknown causes, aged 81.[1]
