Greene County is a county in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 298,915,[1] making it the fourth-most populous county in Missouri. The county seat is Springfield.[2] The county was founded in 1833 and is named after American Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene.[3]
