The Bolsena lake, (Italian: Lago di Bolsena), situated in central Italy, is the largest lake in Europe with a volcanic origin and is also noted for a peculiar oval shape, unlike most volcanic lakes, as its origin is related to a couple of craters' collapse happened about 300,000 years ago.
