Djd
This user is waiting for a WP:USURP request to be completed, or for WP:HELL to freeze over, and will be taking a wikibreak of indeterminate length. |
Greetings. Please feel free to talk to the newbie. djd (talk) 09:47, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Splitting
editHi djd, I have started an attempt to clarify splitting at the talk page where you made your request. Please review and add your comments. Cheers, • • • Peter (Southwood) (talk): 08:57, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
Congrats... You asked an awesome question in the Teahouse!

Your question about expanding stubs and the whole wiki-markup system was excellent! Keep up the good work.

Nominating stuff for deletion
editHi. I saw you attempted to nominate some pages for deletion at WP:MFD, but it didn't quiet come out right. Could you tell me what you were trying to delete? I'll try to help you get it sorted out. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 14:05, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User talk:djd (6 pages)
Group 1: Redirects to pages already deleted from a U1 request: (would be a G6 request if they were not User talk pages)
- User talk:djd/Human Anatomy project
- User talk:djd/Lexicography project
- User talk:djd/sandbox/Transparent Men project
- User talk:djd/sandbox/old Human Anatomy project
Group 2: Test edits that have been blanked, and would have been deleted under U1 or G7 but for the fact that they're User talk pages:
- User talk:djd/sandbox
- User talk:djd/sandbox/Human Anatomy/Old project
Of course, User talk:djd should remain untouched, as there is actual talk recorded.
In Part I of the instructions, it says to use
"{{mfd|GroupName}}
if nominating several related pages in an umbrella nomination."
but then in Part II, it only says to use
"{{subst:mfd2| pg={{subst:#titleparts:{{subst:PAGENAME}}||2}}| text=Reason why the page should be deleted}}
" with no further use of "GroupName" anywhere in the text. Perhaps it should be "subst:PAGENAME or GroupName"?
When I came to Part III, it became clear that
"{{subst:mfd3| pg=PageName}}
should refer to "pg=PageName or GroupName". Whatever the correct procedure should be, the instructions should be updated accordingly, to avoid this sort of problem. Thanks for your help!

- Reply - I suggest that you use {{db-author}} as WP:G7 should apply here. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 17:14, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done. The verbage at WP:U1 makes it sound like all User talk pages must be WP:MFD, but WP:GCSD does make clear that those criteria apply to all namespaces. Thanks. I do recommend that both WP:U1 and WP:MFD#How to list pages for deletion (in the collapsible box) be updated to clarify proper procedure and help keep us well-intentioned newbies on track! Thanks again for your help.
This confirms my request to usurp the current Wikiversity account djd for WP:SUL. Thanks!
Djd (talk) 00:23, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- WP:USURP requested 07/22/2013 due to security issue with Google.
- Should have been completed 07/29/2013.
- Was finally completed 08/06/2013.
- SUL request to other projects submitted 08/08/2013.
- Completed on most projects same day.
- Request ignored by Commons and Wikiversity
- Requests re-submitted 08/16/2013 ... ignored again.
- Escalated to Meta:Stewards 08/25/2013 ... see below for what happened with that.
- Roommate has new user experience from WP:HELL ... ultimately decides all native English people are liars, and decides to leave the country. Can't blame him, I probably would, too.
- Commons processed more requests 08/28/2013, and ignored mine again! Submitted third request, which finally got acted on.
- Still no action on Wikiversity.
- Stewards finally take action on my request to them 08/29/2013, and leave me a snide comment about "patience" ... really? Over five and a half weeks for a one week process, and I'm the one who's being impatient? Really??
- ... then you wonder why I'm ready to give up on this nonsense?!?!
- Wikimedia Foundation should be renamed Wikimolasses Basement!
