Daviess County is a county located in the U.S. State of Missouri. As of 2000, the population is 8,016. Its county seat is Gallatin6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,474 km² (569 mi²). 1,468 km² (567 mi²) of it is land and 5 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.37% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 8,016 people, 3,178 households, and 2,265 families residing in the county. The population density is 5/km² (14/mi²). There are 3,853 housing units at an average density of 3/km² (7/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.68% White, 0.05% African American, 0.39% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. 0.69% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
