Tom Swift is the protagonist in this series of children's science fiction adventure novels. This is the fourth incarnation of Tom Swift. Unlike the previous series, it was not created by the Stratemeyer Syndicate, but was created by Byron Preiss Visual Productions for Simon & Schuster, who had bought out the Syndicate and obtain the rights of all the Syndicate's series. However, all gave the author as Victor Appleton, as with the previous series.

Books in the series:

  1. The Black Dragon (1991, by Bill McCay)
  2. The Negative Zone (1991, by Bill McCay)
  3. Cyborg Kickboxer (1991, by Steven Grant)
  4. The DNA Disaster (1991, by F. Gwynplaine MacIntrye)
  5. Monster Machine (1991, by Debra Doyle & James D. MacDonald)
  6. Aquatech Warriors (1991, by Debra Doyle & James D. MacDonald)
  7. Moonstalker (1992)
  8. The Microbots (1992, by Robert Vardeman)
  9. Fire Biker (1992)
  10. Mind Games (1992, by Bruce Holland Rogers)
  11. Mutant Beach (1992)
  12. Death Quake (1993, Bridget McKenna)
  13. Quantum Force (1993)

Hardy Boys and Tom Swift Ultra Thrillers by Franklin W. Dixon

  1. Time Bomb (1992)
  2. The Alien Factor (1993)

These were all published in mass market paperback by Archway Books/Pocket Books/Simon & Schuster. The editors from Byron Preiss Visual Productions acted in a similiar capacity as the old Stratemeyer Syndicate editors did, providing a short outline to the authors.
