Hi, this is my "me"-page, blablabla, nothing here yet, but this is currently a dumping-ground for material I need to cut-and-paste. Feel free to use it yourself if you wish. But if you do, you must be very bored. Or lonely. Don't whittle away hours voting, go find a stub and flesh it out. Read a WikiBook. Take a virtual Walk. Anything!

Languages I understand

I like languages, languages are cool, and the more you learn the better you understand the origins of English :)

  • I am a native speaker of English (and speak it a lot better than most natives I might add)
  • I have an excellent knowledge of the Latin volcabulary, enough to translate inscriptions and jokes (tu es caudex!) on-the-fly, but ask me about declensions beyond the third and I'm done for!
  • I have a pathetic knowledge of Old English, only enough to get by. I can get the gist of something, but little more than that I'm afraid. There's always night school...
  • I hope to add Greek to my abilities, if only Massey would offer it again...
  • I might learn Japanese if I can fit it in somewhere...
  • Oh and I took some Maori, how could I forget? Pathetically easy to learn... compared to Latin that is...

Images and pages to watch

Here goes the stuff where I don't know what it's doing on WP, or I want to follow its growth or improvement, and if I get around to it I'll label it or something... If you wanna jump in and do one for me, feel free to remove it from this list :)

Off-site media to import later

You know when you spot something and think "that'd be GREAT to use on WP at some point!" and then you lose the link and search in vain for it? ...you don't? Well, anyway, I do, so here they are...

  • Zelda Game & Watch box hi-res photo! [1], in context [2]
    • scratch the last one, THIS is the ultra-hi-res one [3], seen in context [4]
      • However it's signed by Miyamoto himself! So on the one hand I have a super-hi-res image (to be used in thumb form of course, but a great reward for click-thru-ers and GDPL-safe book editors) but on the other hand I'd ideally edit off The Man's signature. What an ethical decision...
  • Zelda novels, [5]
  • Apricorns
    • Pokeballs fan sprites of Apricorns etc. but questionable legality of using fan representation art on WP.
    • [6], alternate pics of Apricorns, but not very clear and incorrectly coloured.

Pages I'm particularly proud of

These are the pages I've either heavily contributed to, or was the sole author of.

My Wikibooks contributions

I have authored several guides in the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Wikibook; some were just vague and brief stubs when I started on them, others didn't exist at all, and now they're virtually GameFAQ's quality!

My Wikicities contributions

I've just launched the Journal of History and Classics over at the Academic Publishing Wiki, and I wikified my old essay The struggle for Greece: Marathon and Artemision as its flagship work. So check it out!

Things I need to do/finish

I used to use my Watchlist to remind myself, but now it's got like 200+ pages in it...

Since A Link to the Past uploaded this image, I might as well start collecting content to accompany its imminent inclusion! If I bookmark this stuff I always lose it... bah...

The terrible Moblin has a magic spear. Whenever he throws it, it vanishes and reappears in his hand. However, he has one weakness... ....The story ends with a cliffhanger. You don't see Link save Zelda—to do that you need to buy the game!

Images I've contributed

This list got unGainly, so can now be found at User:Master Thief Garrett/Images.

Other users' cool projects

I am a "Mergist"

I am a "mergist". I don't believe in mercilessly deleting, but I don't believe in allowing 5000+ splintered eternal stub articles to exist either. Look at my work on merging the Zelda characters/races/enemies into core pages. They are still as useful and valid as they ever were, and indeed are made *more* useful by listing them together. Why? With a separate page structure, a user has to click through to each and every related thing. If they are all on the same page, the user merely scrolls up/down to see related things. This is certainly a goal that should be aimed for, in this and all other Wiki projects.
