East York Community Council acts as smaller city councils in the new mega city of Toronto.

The EYCC sits at Toronto City Hall, not the former East York Municipal Offices at 850 Coxwell Avenue. Formally called Toronto East York Community Council, it was renamed from Downtown Community Council. Northern wards (19, 20, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32) of the former Downtown Community Council merged into the Midtown Community Council (serving wards of 16, 21, 22, 25, 26, 34).

The community council composes of councillors serving city wards in the boundaries of the former cities of Scarborough, East York, Ontario, City of York, Etobicoke, North York and Toronto.
