A theory that proposes some type of quantum leap in a species understanding is somehow transmitted to all members of the species, e.g., collective consciousness. It is proposed that this breakthrough occurs when a critical mass of the ability or knowledge is achieved in a population.

In most stories when the one-hundredth monkey of a local population learned some new ability or skill, other populations without direct contact also somehow acquired the ability or skill.

Something.com

Something.com is somewhat of an enigma; it is a registered domain name, which when visited, is a blank page except for "Something." in the corner.

This may be based off a line from the Homestar Runner "first time here" cartoon, in which Homestar forgets the name of the site, and when the cameraman whispers it to him, it's too long and he simply says "Something.com!"

[From Bindu to Ojas]

"From Bindu to Ojas" is the title of the "1st Edition" of Richard Alpert's autobiography and guidebook to enlightenment "Be Here Now." It is his first published title as "Ram Dass," the name given to him by a guru he met in India known as Maharajji (a.k.a. Neem Karoli Baba). It included Four Separate Books in a mandala illustrated & lidded Mailing Box: "Our-Story/My-Story/Your-Story/His-Story (Paperback) = Section 1 of Be Here Now * * "From Bindu To Ojas"(loose Brown Paper Pages tied together with Twine with Colored Mandala on front) = Section 2 of Be Here Now ** "Cook Book For A Sacred Life"(Paperback Book) = Section 3 of B.H.N. and "Painted Cakes Do Not Satisfy Hunger" (Paperback Book) = Section 4 of B.H.N. It also included a Long-Playing record, posters, lecture dates, photographs, etc. 300 initial copies were hand-produced for the first release in 1970.

Before this book became known as "Be Here Now," Ram Dass explained the meaning of its title "From Bindu to Ojas:" "Bindu is sexual energy and ojas is spiritual energy, and its the transformation of the energy within the body which is called `raising the kundalini.' The chakras, the subtle rather than physical centres of one's physical and spiritual energy, provide the interface and function as transformers, converting impulses from one frequency to another, from the physical to the spiritual."

Diversions Publishing was created in 2003 and presided over by Judy Elam to serve as the publishing engine for the series of One Must Fall computer games developed by Diversions Entertainment. Diversions Publishing published one title, One Must Fall: Battlegrounds, in December 2003 in the United States in cooperation with TriSynergy. The game was ultimately recieved to tepid reviews and was not a commercial success, resulting in Diversions Publishing essentially going dormant as Diversions Entertainment released employees in Early 2004.

Fabrizio Miccoli, is a football player who was born on the 26/06/1979 in Nardo, Italy. He currently plays his football for Portugese side SL Benfica. Fabrizio Miccoli, as a youngster was regarded as a player with great potential and had close realtion with italian side Juventus. Miccoli's serie a debut was with Perugia and after impressing there, Miccoli was snapped up by Juve. Miccoli failed to mak an impression at the Satadio Delli Alpi and was loaned to then newly promoted serie a side AC Fiorentina after the arrival of Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovi. His move to Fiorentina seemed a good one for Miccoli. He earned a recall to the Italian national side and was the clubs leading goal scorer for that season, a return to Juve in the off season was short lived when Miccoli opted to move to the Portugese reigning champions Benfica, where although initally making a solid start has now been restricted to very little game time.

Fielding House is one of eight houses at the independent school Queen's College, Taunton. Fielding is a house made up of around 100 day boys from years 7 to 13. The house is supported by a house master, currently Mr Byron Lewis, who is assisted by several house tutors. The house then appoints a head of house (a year 13 student) and normally also elects a head of sport (also a year 13). The year 12 students are appointed as House Prefects and are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the house.

Within the school Fielding house is infamous for its 'beats' and general house discipline. However, this also helps to contribute to the house's unrivaled comaradery. If visiting the house a definite must see is 'the beam'. The beam contains many scrawlings by various pupils of years gone by. Also worth seeing is 'the attic' - A haven for the older members of the house. When first rediscovered in 2004 many interesting artefacts of years gone by were found. Ask to see the Fielding Museum.

Quartz movement is the movement of quartz inside a casing. The quartz is normally ground to the size of a grain of sand (and quite possibly is a grain of sand) so that it can vibrate at a certain frequency. This is then put through around 15 binary dividers to get an output of one pulse or 1 HZ per second.

The farming collectives in the Spanish Civil War were very different from the Soviet model of forced collectivisation. After the revolution of 1936 many parts of Spain were dominated by the Anarcho-Syndicalist trade union, the CNT (Confederación Nacional del Trabajo), and collectivisation of agriculture and industry was implemented in areas under the influence of the CNT. Collectivisation occured both spontaneously and unwillingly, although a large part of historical information shows that most 'individualists' were alowed to continue farming their own land (so long as it was not larger than their needs) outside of the collectives. Many of these collectives were formed by local farmers siezing land from wealthy local landowners and then farming the land between the local community where decisions were made by the local community. Although the theme of collectivization has fascinated historians because of its libertarian resonance, collectivization was a minority phenomenon even in the Republican zone. Only 18.5 % of the land in the Republican zone (and, of course, none in the Nationalist zone) was collectivized.*

  • Total seizures may have amounted to approximately one-third of arable

land. Payne, Spanish Revolution, 240–1; Luis Garrido González, ‘Producción agraria y guerra civil’, in Casanova, ed., El sueño, 100. Anarchist sources, however, claimed that nearly half of the peasants in the Republican zone were ‘collectivists’. See Bernecker, Colectividades, 111.

Aquavit is distilled in several locations by a number of different producers. Most small distillers founded in the 1800s have now been bought out by larger concerns, so distillation is performed by a surprisingly small number of companies. For example, the Arcus group has a monopoly in Norway. Below is a list of aquavit distillers and brands organized by the general location of the distiller. Note that Vin & Sprit AB of Sweden has subsidiaries in several countries. It is also the owner of the ABSOLUT brand of vodka.

The widely reproduced "Ruby" was prototyped & patented under the Astra Patent around 1914-15 in northern Spain by Basque gun makers Juan Esperanza & Pedro Unceta. It was mass-produced by Astra around 1915-16 in Guernica, Spain. (Manufacturing was also outsourced to Eibar, Spain.)The pistol is a shorter copycat manufacture of the Browning 1903 which was produced by Colt (US) and FN (Belgium). (Designer John Browning sued them over the patent infringement but lost the suit.) Information is hard to come by on origin of the preceding Astra models of the "Ruby". The "Ruby"s were made during WWI for several nations (especially France) by many maufacturers including Star & Llama. (Patent laws were loosely enforced in Spain if at all.) Star produced the Ruby under a contract called "Izarra". ("Star" in Spanish) Those guns should have "Izarra" or "Star Patent" imprinted on the slide. Astra Ruby's will have '1915 Patent "Ruby" Cal. 7.65'. A pistol manufactured by Astra/Esperanza y Unceta will bear a proof mark of "E.U" surrounded by a circle. These pistols fire 7.65 (.32) cartridges and came with a nine round capacity magazine. They can be still found today and can be purchased in the $100-400 US dollar range. (Depending on condition.)

Ranil has been a member of the Conservative Party (UK) for just over two years, but has long been a supporter of Conservatism – freedom, choice, personal responsibility and patriotism. He tends to align himself with groups such as Conservative Way Forward and the Young Britons' Foundation.

Ranil lives in the village of Bramley, near Basingstoke. He served as Alton College CF Branch Chairman while at college, and since late September 2004 has served Hampshire and the Isle of Wight as CF Area Chairman.

During his time as CF Area Chairman, Hampshire has seen a great rise in the number of branches and in the coming year, Hampshire will surely continue from this improved platform to really drive for new membership as new policies connect with the people of Hampshire.

Ranil has hosted a number of formal and informal events. Ranging from GE Strategy Days to a meeting down the pub, from a Drinks Reception to a fully fledged ball, Ranil has done it all. He last event, the CF Winter Ball was a great success and was very well attended with guests even coming down from Yorkshire to attend this nationally publicised event.

Ranil has an excellent track record in campaigning for the party too. Campaigning in a number of key marginal constituencies, Ranil and other CF Hampshire members ensured, with the people of Hampshire, that no Hampshire constituencies were lost to Labour or the Liberal Democrats.

Being an experienced Area Chairman, Ranil has also been made Deputy Regional Co-ordinator for the Conservative Future South-Eastern Counties Group, working with Dan Large who sits on the NME and is ex officio Regional Co-ordinator.

Thomas Woodrow Wilson College, the first of Princeton's five residential colleges, was developed in the late fifties when a group of students formed the Woodrow Wilson Lodge as an alternative to the eating clubs. The Woodrow Wilson Lodge members originally met and dined in Madison Hall, which is now part of John D. Rockefeller III College. Following the ideals of Woodrow Wilson, president of Princeton from 1902-1910, the members advocated a more thorough integration of academic, social and residential life on campus.

In the fall of 1961, President Robert Goheen dedicated Wilcox Hall, the bequest of a distinguished alumnus, T. Ferdinand Wilcox '00, and the Lodge moved to the new dining facility and became the Woodrow Wilson Society. Wilcox Hall provided a permanent facility for the Woodrow Wilson Society with dining space, a library, lounges for reading and recreation, and rooms for various social activities.

The completed dormitory quadrangle consisted of Dodge-Osborn Hall, 1937 Hall, 1938 Hall, 1939 Hall and Christian Gauss Hall, honoring the late Dean of the College. Today, the College also includes Feinberg Hall, which was completed in 1988, and one floor in the third entryway of Walker Hall, and 1927-Clapp Hall.

In 1966, the Woodrow Wilson Society was formally reorganized as Woodrow Wilson College with Professor Julian Jaynes of the Psychology Department as its first Master. He was succeeded by Professor John Fleming of the English Department, Master from 1969-72; Professor Henry Drewry of History, Master from 1972-75; Professor Norman Itzkowitz of Near Eastern Studies, Master from 1975-89; Professor Fleming returned as Master of Wilson College for 1989-97. Professor Miguel A. Centeno of the Department of Sociology was Master from 1997 through the spring of 2004, and Professor Marguerite Browning of the Department of Linguistics began her term as Master in the Fall of 2004. The college is home to roughly 500 freshmen and sophomores and a small number of upperclassmen. The college staff is led by the master (a faculty member), and also includes a dean, a director of studies, a college administrator, a college secretary, and two graduate student assistant masters. A council of current students also contributes to college life, organizing trips, study breaks, and other opportunities. Beginning in the 2007-2008 school-year, Wilson College will, along with Princeton's other residential colleges, cater to upperclassmen as well as underclassmen, with new programs and advising. However, the college will continue to house only a small number of upperclassmen. Wilson College students who wish to remain living in a residential college after their sophomore year will be permitted to move into neighboring Whitman College, which will begin housing students of all four undergraduate classes.

A double-tap is when two bullets hit a target (usually a person) in such quick sucsession that they hit exactly the same spot. The ability to perform a double-tap is very difficult to attain and most guns are simply incapable of firing two bullets within such a small space of time. The double-tap is featured in the Chinese movie "Double-Tap", where a highly skilled assassin uses it as his signature method of execution.
