Sandown Castle was one of Henry VIII's Device Forts, built at Sandown, North Deal. Now demolished by the sea, but identical to Walmer Castle when they were first built. It should not be mistaken for Sandgate Castle, which was and is further south.

Another Sandown Castle was built from 1544 onwards, near Sandown Isle of Wight. It was demolished before the present-day town of Sandown was established, and the site of the fort is now the Sandham Grounds public park, between Fort Street and Culver Parade.
