Instructions

If you notice that a Wikipedia user is showing signs of stress, taking a wikibreak, or considering leaving the project altogether, please add the user to the appropriate list below so that the Esperanza community can intervene with encouraging comments and suggestions. You are welcome to add your own username to any of the lists if you wish to receive support from the community. Or if someone else has added your user name to the list and you wish to be left alone, you may remove yourself from the list.

Each entry should remain on this page until the issue is resolved or for approximately one month. "Leaving Wikipedia" alerts that do not succeed in encouraging prominent users to stay with the project should be archived to the list of missing Wikipedians.

Stressbusters has some suggestions for actions you might take in response to these alerts.

Stressed Users

User: Reason: Date:
User:Rschen7754 RFC that is suffering from biased users and going south. 19:30, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
User_talk:Colignatus User in trouble 07:09, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
User_talk:Go for it! I feel persecuted! Instead of simply giving up in frustration, I've decided to stick around and fight back (within the acceptable means provided by Wikipedia). I'm in need of the advice of a veteran user on something I've been working on for quite some time. I undertook a complete overhaul of the Community Portal, on an open editable page, only to have someone revert it to a version of the page that existed months ago. Then along comes an admin and protects the page. Not knowing what all my options were, I called for a vote to get the page changed back. I didn't get any positive feedback until I posted that announcement - up until then I felt like I was continually being yelled at and scolded. My talk page reads like a punching bag. My question is: is there anything we can do to change the process bias of the talk page system which seems to promote criticisms and complaints over praise and encouragement??? --Go for it! 19:43, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
User:Natalya Lots of exams coming up, not enough time to study, leading to not nearly enough time to contribute. 18:49, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
User:The Minister of War Happened upon a sockpuppet, thought (perhaps wrongly) that an RFAr was appropriate, and now I end up defending myself against an accusation of pushing POV! Man this drains energy. 12:10, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
User:HighwayCello Too many people screaming at me... Highway Rainbow Sneakers 16:36, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
User:Pilotguy The vandals continue to insult me and send me death threats, I continue to put up with people trying to give me a sense of inferiority on my talk page, and yet I receive zero support. Enough is enough. I feel like I am wasting my time at this point. 2:26, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
