Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself.
- Read the article describing how to edit a page and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox.
- When editing pages, use the preview button before submitting and try to fill in the summary box for every edit.
- Eventually, read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- If you need help, post a question in the Newcomers' Village Pump or ask me on my talk page.
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
Karen, welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your article on Blazin' Squad -- great information, and very thorough. I would like you to take a quick look at the article again, when you have time -- I've altered the format to fit Wikipedia's style (don't worry, I haven't cut any information! Your text was great). If you have specific questions about what I did, let me know on my talk page at User talk:Jwrosenzweig. To cover some quick major points, we don't post such large photos in articles because many readers have slow Internet connections. We make the images smaller (they're known as "thumbnail" images) and if people want the larger version, they can click on the magnifying glass. You can do this by linking to the image with [[Image:IMAGENAME.jpg|right|thumb|CAPTION FOR THE IMAGE]] and get a picture that is on the right side of the article, thumbnailed, with a little caption -- just like I did at Blazin' Squad's article. Also, we don't normally put links to outside sites like Amazon.co.uk in articles....you'll see I moved those links to the External Links section at the bottom. I made some other minor changes too, but you'll see them and can ask me what you like. I hope you keep contributing here, though -- you do really good work! Thanks and keep it up, Jwrosenzweig 23:03, 12 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Karen, don't apologize! You did a great job -- much better than my first article here, I can assure you. Anyway, I'm glad my suggestions were helpful, and if you need any help or assistance, please drop me a note. Have a good day, and please, keep contributing! :-) Jwrosenzweig 23:25, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Some notes
Please don't be offended by this or anything like that ;)
- Naming conventions for bands; those with the name of something else have (band) after their names, e.g. Oasis (band)
- Your V (band) (I moved it for you) is a bit POV; see neutral point of view
- V (band) is also an orphan; it probably needs to be linked from Busted and McFly
Cheers,
Dunc Harris | Talk 18:02, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
- Yeah, there's no need to be sorry or anything like that. One way to get round POV is to say that NME likes them or something, we're supposed to be sympathetic. Good luck with the editing anyway ;) Dunc Harris | Talk 18:09, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
- And btw, you can sign your name by writing four tildas, ~~~~ after your msg.
