Claire Bloom (born 15 February 1931) is a British actress. She is known for playing Shakespearean roles, as well as for appearing in movies, for example Laurence Olivier's Richard III.
She was formerly married to author Philip Roth. Their marriage ended when she could no longer tolerate his sexually promiscuous lifestyle.
