Gramatica

edit

--Sebastian Kessel Talk 15:30, 30 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

If I do mistakes, other users will correct that. I like when that happens. The effort that I did studying and formulating, is more rewarded. } And the WIkipedia is of free access, even without log-in. Potentially millions of people can correct me. My English is limited by the technical use that I do of it (at my work). Although I study everyday in English (Computers).--Zzzzzzus 05:04, 2 October 2005 (UTC)zzzzzzusReply

Don't do it yet, let people comment on that. It is clear that it competed with the traditional buses but I'll see if it can be gracefully emphasized. The word "english" will rub some editors the wrong way, I think I'm goin to leave that out. --Sebastian Kessel Talk 17:36, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
ZZZ, Please, read this carefully and process it, since it's important.
When you add things to a talk page, add them at the bottom of the page.
Do not disrupt the flow conversation, answer items at the bottom of the section.
Do not ERASE things from a talk page, ever. If you don't like them, cross them out. You deleted some of your comments in Talk:Colectivo, this is considered very rude. I will not revert this time, but I will next time.
When you add pictures, please indicate proper Copyright or they will probably be deleted.
Please read WP:Wikiquette, it is important that you maintain proper etiquette at all times, since it makes for a "better world", as we say.
Any questions about these items, please feel free to ask and we'll chat it out (in Spanish or English, whatever's best)

Pictures

edit

I read you would like to upload some scanned pictures from Argentine magazines. First, have in mind the Copiright problems: If the magazine is at least 25 years old, then you can upload them under the Argentine Law 11723: Check the combo-box at the uploading page for the Public Domain Argentina's Law 11723 for all fotographic work 25 years after its publication. That 25 is a mistake, its 20.

Yet, you have to add a reference to the source of the picture (say Revista Gente, and the name of the photographer if available).

Please, upload the pictures at commons: from commons:Special:Upload, since that way they are available to all the wikipedias, and not just the English one.

Thanks, Mariano(t/c) 08:49, 4 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Saves

edit

ZZZ, you made 7 saves in 10 minutes in Colectivo. Please, use the "Preview" button to see how the changes are going and THEN hit save, it will make it much easier on all of us. 1 or 2 saves are fine, but 7 makes it impossible for us to see what you've changed. Also, use Edit summaries to explain what you've done... that's what they are there for.

Thanks.

That's exactly why the "Preview" button is there for. You will not damage anything if you click preview after all the edits and see at how the page looks. ZZZ, I love to have fun with WP, but this is a serious project, and I like to keep its contents and my tasks within reason. For me, editing is fun.

Image Tagging Image:Colectivo60.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Colectivo60.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much.

Converting to mph

edit

You added mph versions of the speeds at Gottlieb Daimler (and put them before the km/h versions). While giving an mph value is useful for non-metric readers, please make sure to round sensibly. 9.94 mph sounds like a much more precise measurement than 16 km/h, so the WP:MOSNUM tells us to write 10 mph instead. (I also put the km/h version first because that seems to be the original data, and the mph version just converted from that). Please don't use too many digits when converting. If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Image:Zz-Olympiastadion-000.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Zz-Olympiastadion-000.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --ccwaters 15:32, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 05:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).

Unspecified source for Image:Colectivo-002.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Colectivo-002.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Non-free use disputed for Image:Zzz-FollowStar.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Zzz-FollowStar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:15, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Zzz-BenzMerceBenz.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Zzz-BenzMerceBenz.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:25, 12 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 20:25, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Zzz-BenzMerceBenz.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Zzz-BenzMerceBenz.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:08, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
