Energy Medicine is a term used to describe the signalling of information or, according to David Bohm, "In-formation" from one thing to another. The term can be quite misleading and is actually information medicine with particular reference to having health benefits either psychologically, physiologically or spiritually.

It is suggested that this information is communicated through the Zero Point Field / The Akashic Field / The Quantum Vacuum. (See Ervin Lazslo) (Please develop this afformentioned section.)

It is purported to work through ancient subtle energy systems referenced to by many cultures, for example chinese talk of Chi and meridians, the Indian Vedics talk of Prana, Chakras and nadis.

Proponents state that according to quantum physics - all things are entangled and intrinsically linked through the quantum vacuum and that therefore information can be transmitted from one place to another without the expenditure of what classical physics calls energy.{Laszlo} It should be noted that few if any quantum physicists support this claim and that this idea relies on a very loose interpretation of the nature of Quantum Theory.
