Raines is a new crime drama set to premiere on NBC in the United States and on both Global and CH in Canada during the 2006-2007 television midseason. The series will focus on Michael Raines (Jeff Goldblum), an eccentric LAPD detective, who interacts with dead crime victims in order to solve criminal cases. Raines must deal with his gift or curse, as it causes problems between his co-workers and his personal life.
