Marine Aerial Navigator insignia
The Marine Aerial Navigator Badge is a military decoration of the United States Marine Corps that is issued to Marine Corps enlisted personnel who complete flight training as a navigator onboard Marine Corps aircraft. The badge is the only independent aviation decoration of the Marine Corps which cannot be issued to both Marine Corps and Navy aviators.
To be awarded the Marine Aerial Navigator Badge, a service member must complete the Marine Aerial Navigator Course at Randolph AFB, Texas, or an equivalent formal course of another service, and volunteer to fly as enlisted aircrew. Upon completion of training, and certification as a Marine Corps Navigator, the Marine Aerial Navigator Badge will be presented. Marine Aerial Navigators are in the Military Occupational Specialities (MOS) 7371, Aerial Navigator-Trainee and 7372, First Navigator.
The Marine Aerial Navigator badge is similar in appearance to the Naval Flight Officer Badge and is the same badge as the former Naval Aviation Observer (Navigation) Wings. The Navy only used this insignia from March 1945 to March 1947.
