Sandbox Edits

Thanks for your message about Sandbox edits and setting up a user page. I've made a start but I'll add more shortly. I was recently blocked from editing the Sandbox because I used it too much (I was checking the formatting of an article that I was about to upload) - is that normal? What is acceptable use for the Sandbox? David m thomas 15:27, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not a complete expert, but I do know that you can't edit any page too many times on the same day. That is normal, and the block should wear off soon. Just to let you know, the sandbox is for any experiments, and you can go to different parts of it for different tests, but what you did was fine. Just give it some time and once the block wears off, be careful not to edit a page so many times (by the page history I saw you edited a whole lot). Here's a tip: Click the "Show Preview" button before submiting edits to see if there's anything you want to change. Good luck with that article! RyGuy Sign Here! The Block has worn off and I have uploaded my article on Elstree Studios. Thanks for the tip! David m thomas 20:27, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help Requested by Freiddy

Hello RyGuy! I recently spotted vandalism in an article Buoyancy (by chance!) by the IP 204.108.230.2. I'm not sure what to do, please help. This IP also seems to be a frequent vandalist, so should I report him/her or something? I will try to revert the changes. --Freiddy 19:39, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have already reverted it, so I will go on to another step. Here is a link to my monobook.js that I want you to copy and put here. That links to your monobook.js (click the link under "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia"). After copying, return here. Only copy up to the last //, no more, no less Okay, good job. Now copy all the stuff here to your css(click the link under "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia"). Then come back here.
Okay, now you have new tabs, but wait, you need to press control + F5 to see them. When you see them, and you are editing a talk page, hover your mouse over them to see what they do. Just don't click them on a non-vandal's, and make sure they are the correct warnings. Remember, after reverting, always warn the vandal. Plus, now you can report him/her! Good luck! RyGuy Sign Here! Unfortunately, things were a bit messy with this new addition. The tabs did come up, but were horribly aligned (and IE tells me there are script errors). Did I do something wrong? Perhaps I don't know how to copy script files... --Freiddy 10:06, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, maybe your IE doesn't support it. Which version do you have? I have 7, and it stil sometimes gives me errors. RyGuy Sign Here! My Journal 12:42, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mine's also IE7. The borders seem to have "vibrated off their original positions" mostly. That's what it looks like in my browser.--Freiddy 18:13, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that's what you mean. Well, it's the same on mine too, but it's fine. Nobody can be perfect right? It wasn't me who wrote the js, but still. The script errors should stop soon, at least, that's what happened to me. Maybe the browser needs to "get used to it", if you know what I mean. RyGuy Sign Here! Regarding Shaericell's recent block

You asked about Shaericell.

She was indefinitely, not infinitely, blocked because I believe her and her "sister's" profile are fraudulent, because she has been uploading images with apparently deliberately false licenses, using Wikipedia for social networking, etc. I have contacted her by email and given her several options, all of which would involve unblocking, and would be happy to do so if she is willing to adhere to Wikipedia policies. Once again, this is not meant to be an infinite block, it is meant to be a temporary block until she can resolve the licenses on the images her and her sockpuppet have been uploading or until they agree not to upload fake images, and until she has read WP:NOT. --Yamla 15:39, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you for your explanation. RyGuy Sign Here! My Journal 12:52, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikikids

Congratulations! That place looks terrible! Good luck fixing it up. (By the way, you should propose this page for deletion, as it doesn't make any sense.) That place makes me want to edit it, but it's best that I leave it alone, otherwise it might look too complicated. :-) | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 20:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it is a mess but that is because we are new. Also thanks for the support in my recall. --James, La gloria è a dio 22:56, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's me! Mr.Fix-it! I'm having trouble with the logo I made though. See it here! RyGuy Sign Here! My Journal 12:21, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest your logo look different than the mediawiki one, it might be copyrighted, or have other legal rights. | AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 12:25, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Okay, when I can use my other computer again, I'll make another one. RyGuy Sign Here! My Journal 12:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
