Well, Dr. Loo, does say[1], "Professor Ben Carson and Dr Keith Goh continued to dissect the brain which was harder than we had anticipated because they had been together for 29 years." Isn't that a reference to the sticking together? I know that wasn't what killed them, but I was only giving that as a reason for the difficulty of the operation rather than a reason for its outcome. Okay, so maybe that wasn't the main difficulty, but I expect it should probably be mentioned anyway... -- Oliver P. 17:51 8 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I guess it depends on if you think "harder" applies to the doctors or the twins. To my mind, what made it hardest for the twins is what killed them: the inability to provide functional venous drainage (attempts at which, reading between the lines, caused DIC, hemorrhage, and death) rather than the doctors spending a bit more time in surgery - doctors who were really foolish if they really DIDN'T anticipate the "sticking together". No problem with adding the fact that the brains required more time to separate than would have been needed in newborns, but didn't want to imply that that had anything to do with the outcome. -- Someone else 18:05 8 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Okay, that sounds sensible. I suppose the sentence did sound misleading, as it was before. But argh! too much medical talk! I'm going to have to run away now... -- Oliver P. 18:50 8 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Better talk than pictures! <G> -- Someone else 19:03 8 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I just wanted to say my heart goes out to the Bijani family and to Iranian people on the sensible loss of the Bijani Twins. Im a Puerto Rican living in the United States, and , regardless of political or religious views, this is a sad day for everyone who was wishing them well and we should all join and pray for their souls. Since I started writing this page, I declare it officially dedicated to the memory of Ladan and Laleh Bijani.
