The Workhorse Chronicles is a DVD release by American progressive-metal band Mastodon.

The DVD is divided into 3 sections. The first is a documentary that traces the band's formation and the individual members' previous bands. The second section is a live videos section which features live performances of every original song ever released by Mastodon, pre-Blood Mountain (bar Elephant Man and Joseph Merrick which have never been played live). The third and final section is music videos, which features the band's first 3 music videos (March Of The Fire Ants, Blood & Thunder, and Iron Tusk). The video for "Seabeast" had been made at the time, but the DVD went into pressing before it had time to be included.

Trivia

The DVD was originally going to contain alternate videos for some songs (including Battle At Sea and Seabeast) that focussed entirely upon drummer Brann Dailor. However, for some unknown reason these "Drum-cam" videos were not included on the DVD.
