Darth Sidious quotes

[edit]

Do you have a source for the quotes you added to Darth Sidious? --AlistairMcMillan 00:43, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I see that for this page you blanked it and typed "Xelda I'Sea doesn't exist". Next time, if you see a page that you feel does not belong you should nominate it for deletion. You can find instructions on how to do this at Votes for Deletion. Best of luck! --Dave the Red (talk) 07:06, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll do that.

Discussion pages

[edit]

Would you mind not quoting at length the comments you're responding to? That works on Usenet, where each article is self-contained. But here we can just look up and see what someone said. It's enough to say "I don't agree that (paraphrase) because...." Reposting someone's remarks with your signature leads to all sorts of confusion. --Gazpacho 07:54, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just some advice...

[edit]

You should not ruthlessly delete others' information. If you disagree about a passage in an article, please state so in it's discussion page. Sooner or later, it will be taken care of. Remember, it is other peoples' work. Also, as Wikipedia says: "You're encouraged to create, expand, and improve upon articles; however, bad edits to articles are watched for and will be quickly removed." This usually holds true, and stable information will come along eventually. Just a little tidbit that I've learned here on Wikipedia. Thank you, --A.J. 03:29, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you tag this to be speedied? Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 12:38, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

When you reply to comments, please be sure to do so on the user's talk page, rather than their user page. Cheers, smoddy 20:21, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Jerec

[edit]

Are you sure about the Miraluka bit? I know I put in a parallel to Traya, and thus to Visas Marr, but still... And that's not even mentioning the xenophobia of the Empire, or the problem that Nihilus killed all but one Miraluka... --maru 05:27, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Well, that answers that- an excellent reference. Think I'll add it to his page. --maru 05:33, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Darth Pravious

[edit]

At the same time "Darth Pravious" was added to the Sith list, an article was written for him. Being as it was trash and nonsense, I put it up for spedey delete (in response to your question who was he.) --maru 29 June 2005 05:40 (UTC)

Palpatine and Battle Meditation

[edit]

I saw your recent edits to Nial Declann. I had the article crediting Declann as the Force-user aboard the second Death Star since Battle Meditiation, AFAIK, is not a known talent of Palpatine's (Palpatine is quite sufficiently blessed with Force talents, no need to lard yet another one). The closest I know of that Palpatine comes to Battle Meditation is his habits of empowering Dark Jedi to act as an extension of his will (compare Jerec). Besides, it seems unlikely for Palpatine to have BM- on the 2nd Death Star, he was rather preoccupied with Luke and Vader's duel, and in addition it seems rather redundant for two BMers on one DS. So I'm probably gonna revert those bits of your edits. --Maru 7 July 2005 16:44 (UTC)

Darth Ruin

[edit]

Darth Ruin? Normally I trust your judgment when it comes to Star Wars legitimacy, but I'm having some doubts with this. In what canonical work does this character appear? I've done a Google search, and all I can really come up with is the user name of a member who posts on a SW fan site's forums. Also, it appears that someone attempted to start an article on this character already, and was vfd'd by a unanimous decision that it was a character of fan fiction. Please clear this up for me, and if I've overlooked something, my apologies. Thanks. Nufy8 04:36, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. By the way, if you have time, please weigh in on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Darth Nihilus and Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Darth Sion. Thanks. Nufy8 04:47, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly is the source of this character? I did a Google search and it only turned up non-canon sources.--Kross 17:08, July 26, 2005 (UTC)

I was looking through sw-stubs, and I saw this entry, and noticed that it seemed a bit bogus, but you had edited it. Is this article fer real? --Maru 18:04, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the official Star Wars site and found out that you are right: dark side is not capitalized. I made another update earlier today capitalizing it, but won't do it again. Thank you for the heads-up. Copperchair 04:17, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm concerned about an anon's claims that the Jedi during the Sith Wars dispatched half-trained Miraluka to battle. I've never heard of this, but as the entry is otherwise accurate, I'd like someone to double-check it. I'm also considering linking just to the species article entry, eliminating the subentry altogether. --Maru 02:42, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Alright then; I've decided to just link to the main article then, if the substantively new data is false. --Maru 18:27, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I was doing a little editing of it and related articles, and I noticed you put in a reference for ""Bane of the Sith" short story". Which is not very useful. Could you add ISBNs, copyright dates, what anthology was it in &etc? --Maru (talk) 19:20, 10 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't the prestige classes fall under game mechanic canon rules? --Maru (talk) 04:41, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Guard

[edit]

AFAIK, Kanos never appeared in the EU after the last Crimson Empire. What reference are you using for Kanos hunting down and killing impostors? --Maru (talk) 19:45, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Possible fanfic

[edit]

While going through SW categories (pursuant to creating and populating the Dark Jedi category (pursuant to categorizing Lord Hethrir (pursuant to creating a Hethrir article (pursuant to checking your assertion that Sith prestige classes are canon (pursuant to reading the Dark Empire Sourcebook))))) I came across Ali'Sha. Seems like a fanfic to me, with no Google hits and no entry in Wookiepedia. I would like you to doublecheck so I can put it for deletion. --Maru (talk) 02:28, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Naming

[edit]

Is it the The Thrawn Trilogy or the Thrawn Crisis Trilogy? I've seen both but I'm not sure which is right. --Maru (talk) 22:45, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Another possible fanfic

[edit]

Rise of the Cortosis Battle Droids. An anon tryed to delete it, which is why I noticed it. Tried to reference or google it or wookie it, but nil. You know of it, or could you look? --Maru (talk) 05:24, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Refs and new article

[edit]

I noticed you recent additions on the ultimate fate of Palpatine's aides? {{RequestForRef}} Also, a new article has been made by an anon (who has also gone around inserting it into see alsos), at Force Users. You might want to watch it. --Maru (talk) 19:09, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Review

[edit]

Could you review my new article Inquisitorius? I'm not sure I got everything right. --Maru (talk) 21:32, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You removed the Sith category from EH. Are you asserting that being a Sith and being a hand were mutually exclusive, that no Sith could become a Hand, and none of the Hands were allowed to become Sith (or if they did, they forfeited Hand-status and became something else)? --Maru (talk) Contributions 03:21, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My argument is this: all the articles are about the original versions, so there is no need to note that the image is from the original version. It is redundant. Copperchair 02:20, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Luke as apprentice

[edit]

Could you link this Pablo fellows assertion Luke was never an apprentice? I have not read the original Dark Empire, but excerpts and mentions elsewhere certainly made it sound like Luke was taking Vader's place at the Emperor's side. --Maru (talk) Contribs 03:59, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sith edit

[edit]

Your recent edit on the Sith article had the summary "Why do you do these things?". I wondered what exactly that was in reference to. – Mipadi 00:22, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jerec

[edit]

The article says that speculation on his being an Emperor's Hand is just that. What source did you use for your latest edit? --Maru (talk) Contribs 18:31, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it's Timetales, but I'd have to check on that. --Jon Hart 18:34, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Timetales is the fan-made document right? If so, it has to be deriving from somewhere else. --Maru (talk) Contribs 18:40, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, you're right, I wasn't thinking clearly when I was typing. Jerec's status as Emperor's Hand comes from FactFiles. Jon Hart 20:17, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Death Star

[edit]

What exactly does TNEC say that confirms that the Death Star in ROTS is not the prototype? The Wookieepedian 19:27, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I can accept that! That's the good thing about the reference guides: They (obviously) don't ignore or forget about the majority of the EU like Lucas does! So, does it expplain exactly why it took 20 years to build? That cop-out explanation from Lucas on the ROTS DVD isn't good enough. :) The Wookieepedian 19:38, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"TNEC confirms that the ROTS Death Star was not a prototype"

[edit]

I saw the above quote in one of your edit summaries of the Palpatine article. I am a Star Wars fan but do not know much beyong the films; what does TNEC stand for? This is of interest because in Alleged inconsistencies in Star Wars, it mentions the possibility that the ROTS Death Star was a prototype; thus explaining the 20 year construction time when compared to ROTJ. If this is no longer a valid argument, can you elaborate (on my talk page or even in the Palpatine article), or go and fix up the Inconsistancy article yourself? Thanks. --HereToHelp (talk) 21:41, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"The New Essential Chronology". --Maru (talk) Contribs 22:04, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The edits you made to the Inconsistancy article about Vader feigning ignorance of Luke...I had never heard that before. Are you sure those comics are canon?--HereToHelp (talk) 17:48, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Palpatine

[edit]

I have no problem with you arguing your case, but please do not call my work "vandalism". George Lucas (who owns ALL the rights to the Star Wars franchise) said that the material in the Expanded Universe is not canonical to the Star Wars plot. He quite obviously envisioned Palpatine's death on the Second Death Star four years after the Battle of Yavin. I have no real problem with the article saying that his "spirit" was "destroyed" in 11 ABY, but what you're demanding that we do (at the very top of a very long article, no less) is quote Expanded Universe material as canonical fact, and not even mention the fact that Lucas killed him off in RotJ (4 ABY). elvenscout742 22:31, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sith edit

[edit]

Are you certain about that edit to the Emperor's Hands section? I had been led to believe (by you, I think), that there was an exclusive disjunction between the two- one was a Force-sensitive Hand or a Dark Jedi. Besides that issue, was Mara Jada ever a Dark Jedi? I recall her use of the Force being pretty neutral and limited to telepathy and telekinesis of small objects, and I believe Luke Skywalker in Vision of the Future said some things that weigh against counting her as a Dark Jedi. --Maru (talk) Contribs 04:15, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't make the edit in question, but I left it in there because, technically, Emperor's Hands are Dark Jedi, but only in the same way that Sith, Dathomiri Witches, Sorcerors of Tund, Krath, etc. are; that is, they all fit under the umbrella term of "Dark Jedi," which can collectively mean any kind of darksider, not just those trained in the Jedi arts. To avoid confusion, however, I will edit the caption now. Jon Hart 17:50, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Revan's Sith Empire changes

[edit]

Jon Hart, could you please see Talk:Sith#Revan.27s_Empire... about the changes you made on the Sith article. I'd like to come to a consnsus before I reinstate the split version so that it stays there. In my opinion, there needs to be a distinction between those whom Revan killed and those who joined the returned (player) Revan. -Xol 00:01, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've seen the update; it's the best solution. If you want it, I've made a KOTOR userbox: {{User KOTOR}}. Of course, if you are agains userboxes, you can instead use this: {{User ubx-0}} :). -Xol 03:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Freaking Ewoks

[edit]

I noticed that you changed the timeframe for the Ewoks cartoon to 1.5 BBY instead of 1.5 ABY. I have noticed inconsistencies concerning the timeframe of the series before, and I have been trying to figure out whether it is BBY or ABY, but no one else has an answer. I am glad that someone else out there wants the information to be accurate... but I was wondering if you had a source for your information? Hotdoglives 12:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Star Wars Wikiproject... interested?

Hey, Jon Hart. Thanks for adding the "incumbent" word on the Sith Succesion Box on the Darth Krayt article I wrote. It was a most welcomed word to learn.

I see that you extensively edit Star Wars articles. Would you be interested in helping us out at the Star Wars Wikiproject? You would be an invaluable help!

Re: Lost character flashback edits

[edit]

I understand your reason of thinking, and this message is not to criticise it. However, I reverted them to just the episode because of the flashbacks at the end. Where the apparent featured flashback characters were also present in "Part 2", I thought it would be simpler to just list them as "Exodus" rather than "Exodus;Part 1 and Exodus;Part 2"....if that makes any sense--Animé Dan 13:33, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
