Re: WP:FTC

It looks good but I'm not sure on what the requirements are, whether or not singles or all songs are required. I guess it's safer to assume that all songs are required rather than just singles? Gary King (talk) 14:39, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

So, are we going to get "Listen" to GA status? --Efe (talk) 23:54, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Sure, let's do it. Gary King (talk) 01:12, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Hollywood and Check On It need to be GA too since they are part of the album, unless I am mistaken? Gary King (talk) 01:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
I think its not since they only appear in the deluxe edition, and are not main songs/singles. "Listen" is only a hidden track. I am not familiar with TFC. --Efe (talk) 12:05, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
It's probably better if we bring Hollywood and Check on it to GA just to be safe. Gary King (talk) 20:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Well then, lets get to work. Hehe. --Efe (talk) 06:32, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I have been reviewing your article Yellow (song) for GA and have left some comments on the review page. I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty of making a few minor copy edits myself. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. Regards, —Mattisse (Talk) 19:56, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, its fine. Thanks for the help. I actually passed the article without so much copyediting. I'm working on the suggestions. --Efe (talk) 07:26, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi there

Well done on the FA I read about above. I'm not sure which article is it, but well done anyways. Actually I came here for some help. I know you're busy, so I'm not going to ask for much. Recently I fixed up It's About Time (Christina Milian album), and I am going to nominate it for GA status soon. Can you please just have a look at it, nothing more, and tell me what it needs improving on. I know it's short, and has two "citation needed" tags, but do you think once a copyedit is done it will be good enough for GA? Thanks, Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:21, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

I skimmed through the article and it looks good. Aside from giving references to the two lines, it would be better if you expand the musical and lyrical aspect of the album. Generally, a GA-worthy article. --Efe (talk) 07:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the help on Christina Milian. Do you think you would be able to review it? That is, of course, when articles before mine have been reviewed. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 04:33, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Not sure. I have two "on review" and one "on hold". Let's see if I can finish them early. --Efe (talk) 09:23, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
No worries. I didn't want one right away, maybe in a couple of weeks? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 11:31, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm, that's too long. If I have time, and if no one reviews it, I'll do. --Efe (talk) 11:34, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. The thing is that user:laserbrain is supposed to be doing a copyedit, but has stopped midway. I nominating the article hoping that the copyedit would be finished before the review (because as you know nominations take ages to be reviewed). I'll try get laserbrain to finish it soon, and I'll notify you then. Cheers, Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 11:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Ah. Maybe he's a bit busy. He's good. --Efe (talk) 11:45, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I just checked his contributions, and he hasn't been on for three weeks. You're right, probably busy. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 11:52, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi Efe, could you help me with a reassessment of this article. It should be a an easy case of just removing the GA but it needs a review to give editors time to improve it. I don't really want or have the time to write a full essay on how to turn a stub into a GA, that's literally the task at hand. However this needs delisting and I don't have time to do it alone. Fancy setting up a reassessment and drew our thoughts together? Obviously sources is the big killer for me. — Realist2 22:46, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Also, feel free to close Control (Janet Jackson album), bookkeeper is a bit busy these days. — Realist2 22:49, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Indeed the article Jojo looks bad. A lot of paragraphs have one to no sources, and there are lots of stubby paras. The sources are not well-formatted, etc. etc. So, reassessment time? --Efe (talk) 12:20, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes I think so. Would you be able to spare the time to set up the reassessment and we can add some thoughts. Personally I don't think they will be responded to, then we just delist in 3 weeks or what not. — Realist2 13:35, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Im afraid setting up a reassessment page. It would stress me a lot, probably. And I have lots of things to take care. The article really needs sourcing. Maybe we can just collaborate in salvaging its GA status? Or delist outrightly? --Efe (talk) 10:31, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
I asked Geometric guy, apparently we have to give people a chance to improve an article before it's delisted. I don't want to start one either because I really don't have time for that Madonna thing again. That said, JoJo has had a relatively short career with 2 albums I believe. It wouldn't be too hard to get to GA from scratch. Alternatively, we could leave some suggestions on the talk page, inform the relevant people and if nothing is done just delist it? — Realist2 10:39, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Is this the way GAs were processed before? See how Jojo was passed to GA status. --Efe (talk) 08:38, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Yes I noticed that too, very odd. I will start making suggestions on the JoJo talk page is you want to do likewise, I'll also go around removing crap sources etc. — Realist2 12:02, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

So, is Jojo a legit GA article? --Efe (talk) 11:18, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

The reassessment is up and running if you want to tag in. Cheers. — Realist2 21:52, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. I'll check it later. --Efe (talk) 03:35, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
It was delisted about 40 mins ago lol, oh well. :-) — Realist2 03:39, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Off topic a little now

Replied at mine. — Realist2 14:12, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Re:Hmmm

I found it via a link on Gary King's talk page. Why I was there I can't remember. I was interested because I had noticed the albums were virtually complete and was planning to nominate them after Listen made GA. Then I discovered that they were your babies so left it. Suga Mama had been a GA for a while and I thought that perhaps you'd overlooked the fact.

Just to reciprocate, here is my sandbox. -- Escape Artist Swyer Talk Contributions 15:07, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

"they were your babies" Haha. Anyway, thanks for the link. The second box is, hmm, almost perfect. Goodluck. --Efe (talk) 03:54, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey and thanks for smiling

I don't know how to react so I'll just smile back. :-)

Just curious, why did you smile at me? Daniil Maslyuk (talk) 11:58, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Remember when I was a newbie? Sorry. --Efe (talk) 12:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Wow! Great to see you again. I read our conversation once again and dang, I was mean. Sorry for that (better late than never). Keep being a good editor. Thanks! Daniil Maslyuk (talk) 12:10, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I supposed to greet you months before but I forgot, so busy. I'm enjoying the project now, and have learned so much with the fair use. "I was mean" That was even good. Kinda lesson for me. Hehe. Thanks also. --Efe (talk) 12:16, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

All The Way

I have responded to the best of my ability and in what I think is the best interest of WP. I do not think my co-author has much more to say. Thus, it is ready for your review.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 03:05, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello Efe. Your attention is requested at the All the Way article. Someone has an issue with information in the "Release and reception" section.-5- (talk) 19:59, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi 5, thanks for informing me. I'll be checking on it now. --Efe (talk) 08:38, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

My Editor Review

Hello! As an editor that I have had a reasonable amount of interaction with in the past, I am inviting you to participate - if you see fit - in my editor review, which may be found here. Thanks! --Winger84 (talk) 00:30, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

I'll try to do a review if I got the time. --Efe (talk) 08:55, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Parachutes review

Hi Efe, just to let you know that I've passed Parachutes as a GA. Good work! Cavie78 (talk) 14:15, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Cavie. --Efe (talk) 09:01, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if you know but someone nominated the article for FAC. I think you should take a look. Cheers! Gary King (talk) 15:16, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I was surprised Gary. But I have already dropped a message on the nominators talk page. I think its not yet ready. I saw the comments on the FAC page and will give a "say" there in a moment. Thanks for dropping by. --Efe (talk) 08:56, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: GA's

No problem, man. I saw the message you left the Parachutes reviewer about you being busy for a couple of days and I just wanted to help out a friend. ;) I know, congrats on getting Parachutes to GA. :) I sorta want A Rush to pass, so we can nominate it for Feature topic. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:28, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Congrats on X&Y. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:34, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. --Efe (talk) 06:00, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
A Rush of Blood to the Head passed. :) Congrats on the hard work. Are we still going with the plan with nominating A Rush to FT? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:07, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks again. You too. Yeah, we will still pursue it. I think you have to nominate it since you got three out of five A rush-related articles. Hehe. --Efe (talk) 01:10, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
We can nominate it as a good topic. Just copy the template here. Thanks. --Efe (talk) 01:25, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Copied and its located here and here. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:46, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Hope it will be promoted. Thanks for the links. --Efe (talk) 00:14, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I know right! Yup, you are welcome for the links and I hope I did write a good reason for its nomination. :) Also, not to jinx the outcome of it, if it passes, do you want to do the same for the songs for Parachutes? Trying to get them to GA and stuff? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:33, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Yep. --Efe (talk) 07:04, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Alright, cool. Is "Don't Panic" ready for GA? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:56, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
"Don't Panic" and "Shiver" aren't ready yet. --Efe (talk) 01:03, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I thought maybe "Don't Panic" was ready. How much work is needed for both articles? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:55, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
More info on both, and more sourcing for "Don't Panic". --Efe (talk) 06:39, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, alright just wanted to be sure. I added some reviews, but if it still needs sourcing, I'll try to help you out, even though I know you probably won't need it. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

The FTC is doing well. Hope it will be promoted soon. --Efe (talk) 08:01, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Clocks

Hi Efe – today I happened to skim over the GA review for "Clocks" and noticed a comment about how more imaging would be nice. Just letting you know that I found a decent Flickr concert picture here and added it to the article, which now adds a bit more interest to it, and enhances the layout. Uploading Images I Made

Hi Efe. I'm a friend of JayJ47's and he suggested that I come to you for help. I have made an image which I wish to upload under a free license. However, I'm concerned that if I do so I could get sued by EA Games for using one of their registered trademark names "The Sims". In your opinion should I upload this image? Pretty7Gurl (talk) 03:48, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

If an image/logo is copyrighted, you cannot make derivatives out of it and/or upload such in another license (e.g. free license). You can upload it as long as its the original image and the usage is "fair", meaning it abides the policies in Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria). Hope that helps. If it fails to suffice you, you may ask here. --Efe (talk) 03:55, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
What if "The Sims" is in a different font and not the original. Because I have made the image with "The Sims" displayed in a different font. Does fair use still apply or is this considered by own work?. I'm sorry I should've been more specific the first time. Pretty7Gurl (talk) 04:47, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Its fine, you can ask me anytime. I believe it falls under derivatives. Please read Derivative work for more info. --Efe (talk) 01:30, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok thank you very much for your help. :) Pretty7Gurl (talk) 01:48, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Always welcome. --Efe (talk) 01:52, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Trouble

From your contributions, it looks likes you've otherwise been busy, so I thought I'd leave you a note that I've completed a review of Trouble (Coldplay song). Peanut4 (talk) 23:57, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

I attended a conference. Thanks for the review. --Efe (talk) 08:03, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:James Blunt 1973 Vinyl.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:James Blunt 1973 Vinyl.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:17, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

A little favor?

Hey there Efe, I've seen through your edits that you assess articles, and I was wondering if you could do the same to List of awards and nominations received by Chris Brown? No rush, just didn't know how to handle it myself as I'm not a huge person of assessing large article like this. DiverseMentality(Boo!) 06:19, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I usually do not assess articles, only those that interest me. However, I also do not assess lists so Im wondering if there's a template for this. Discographies do have. --Efe (talk) 06:31, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I see. I'll try to get that assessed some other way. Thanks for the response. DiverseMentality(Boo!) 06:35, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok. --Efe (talk) 06:37, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Added a template under R&B. --Efe (talk) 07:04, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I see you took after Gary King's example. Thank you very much as well. DiverseMentality(Boo!) 07:05, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, but what I was looking was a template similar to {{WikiProject Discographies}}. --Efe (talk) 07:09, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I was also looking for a template for lists after asking King for the favor, and I found it afterwards. Turned out to be right under WP:ASSESS#Non-standard grades, so I won't be having this trouble again. Thanks for the help! DiverseMentality(Boo!) 07:14, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Welcome. --Efe (talk) 07:19, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Re:Geniusdream

Yep, noted. Seems as though this user is just some fanboy dedicated to cheering and praising at Sarah's career. He can be of some help, but I think his fannish style of editing is something that he should seek help for. Blake Gripling (talk) 05:35, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Exactly. I hope we'll get response from him anytime soon. The FA nomination is going to be killed. --Efe (talk) 05:42, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Of course. Who would be crazy enough to make a peacock-ridden article to a featured status? I'm now into cleaning up the article, removing all the unnecessary stuff, although I still need some backup from you guys. Blake Gripling (talk) 05:46, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
TAMBAY knew of this already. --Efe (talk) 05:54, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
OK, I've removed some of the cruft in the article. Might still need some extra cleanup, I guess... Blake Gripling (talk) 05:57, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Congrats

Awesome, it got promoted and congrats to you too for the job well done. ;) Sorry I didn't respond sooner, college, took some of my days out of Wikipedia, but now I'm back. Hey, you wanna work on another topic? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:36, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Congrats to you, too. Yeah, its fine. I'm working on Parachutes; "Shiver" and "Don't Panic" are on GAN. Any help is appreciated. --Efe (talk) 05:35, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
I know, I guess you have Parachutes all to yourself. :) You know I will always help out, oh, and thanks for reverting vandalism from "Talk's" article, I appreciate it. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 15:21, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Also, wanted to let you know that Cavie78 has added a copy-edit tag to A Rush of Blood to the Head, X&Y, and "Clocks". I think the reason he added the tags is because the articles are not written in British English. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:40, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Welcome. Thanks for informing me. I'll drop him/her a message. --Efe (talk) 10:30, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
I sensed it too but I asked him/her first. I'll revert all the "British" changes when there is no reason given. No respect of the editors here in WikiPedia. --Efe (talk) 10:43, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
True. I thought it was my duty to let you know, since you have been the main contributor to the articles. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 03:03, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Question: Is "Violet Hill" ready for GA? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 03:22, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, my. I think you were delayed because of this. Sorry. The article, I think, is fine. --Efe (talk) 08:29, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, snap. I didn't realize it. :) Alright, I'll go with your word and nominate it. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 15:17, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, after "Don't Panic" and "Shiver" you wanna work on some Justin Timberlake songs? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

I once worked on "What Goes Around" and FutureSex but it seems that his songs have limited info, unlike Coldplay. But we'll try. I'm working on novels now. hehe. --Efe (talk) 05:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Really? I thought he was really open on the meaning of his songs. Well, if you had challenges when writing "What Goes Around" and FutureSex, I guess there are other artists that maybe we can work on. Only if YOU want to. :) Novels? What type of genre are you working on? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:23, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Romance? I don't mind the genre. After all, we're after the sources. Hehe. Am working on some Nicholas Sparks novels, Paulo Coelho (soon, hopefully), and The Elegance of the Hedgehog. --Efe (talk) 07:17, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Nice. I like spy thriller novels, but romance works too. :) Hmm, novels I can't work on, but, I can pick one up and read one. :P All kidding aside, will you abandoned any new Beyoncé related songs? <--- That was a "weak" joke, since you're working on novels. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:29, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Never. Its just that her least-popular songs don't have enough sources. I'll be working on them soon, especially my next FA. =) --Efe (talk) 03:02, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
I figured you wouldn't "retire" from working on her songs. What's your next FA gonna be? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:57, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Maybe I would "retire" when I myself retires from editing this site. Hope it would never happen. Haha. I still on the process of choosing which one is near to FA status. You, you have plans or anything? --Efe (talk) 05:32, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Really? I've seen people "retire" but come back. Me, I don't think I can leave this site, its become so addicting to stay here. Maybe you should get B'Day to FA status. :) Me, well I'm working on actor articles, Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and I'm trying to see if I can get those two articles to FA status, since I really want an FA to my name. :P Also, thank you for that nice note you left at my talkpage, I appreciate it and I gotta thank YOU for helping on how to write song articles, if it wasn't for you, I probably wouldn't have a GT to my name. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:05, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Its either B'Day or Dangerously in Love. It depends. Your always welcome buddy. "... if it wasn't for you, I probably wouldn't have a GT to my name." That is what we called collaboration. =) --Efe (talk) 01:27, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

You should and its no coincidence that I reviewed both articles. :) Well, which article do you feel strong about? Meaning, which has good info. and good sourcing and stuff. I guess being part of the music project, I can definitely say I have "collaborated" with another user in the music project. Or, we can maybe work on a Coldplay related article to get to FA. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:18, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

"Reliable sources" argument in Green Light (song)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dangerously In Love Album(2003).png.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
