Faked Reactions and Forced Lines
The Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 issue of The Erie Times News contains an article about the inaccurate portrayal of Jazmin (Season 2, Episode 11) on the show. She stated "MTV producers prompted me to make such declarations as "I'm the hottest girl in school, me and my friends are most popular and are the leaders of the pack" while they were filming."
Jazmin states "I'm not the leader of anybody, I got an attitude with the producers because they were trying to get me to say stuff that was annoying, stupid, and bratty." Also, "they pumped me for comments by threats of canceling the show if I did not comply"

Parodies in other shows
The entire show was parodied on the South Park episode "Hell on Earth 2006", where Satan threw a massive Halloween party "all about him" and anyone who didn't show up "was a loser." His behavior parodied the spoiled, self-centered attitudes the girls and boys on the show have. When he realizes his folly at the end, the message is that the kids on "My Super Sweet 16" are worse than Satan.
The show was also parodied on Saturday Night Live on the Scarlett Johansson/Death Cab for Cutie episode.
MADtv parodied Super Sweet 16 by throwing a super sweet "30th" for MadTV actor Bobby Lee. Ike Barinholtz, another actor on the show, threw the party for him, but when Bobby's parents refused to fund more than 300 dollars, the party turned out to be a disaster.
It was also frequently lampooned on E!s The Soup
