Croydon F.C. are an English semi-professional football club based in the town of Croydon in the London Borough of Croydon, London, England. Until 2006 they played in the Isthmian League, but lost their place in that league as part of the 2006 re-structuring of the non-league football set-up, and now play in the Kent League. They play at Croydon Arena in South Norwood.

The club was founded in 1953 as Croydon Amateurs.

History

  • 1964-65 - Joined Athenian League Division Two
  • 1965-66 - Athenian League Division Two Champions (on goal average); promoted to Division One
  • 1970 - Relegated to Division Two
  • 1970-71 - Athenian League Division Two runner-up; promoted to Division One
  • 1971-72 - Athenian League Division One runner-up; promoted to Premier Division
  • 1973 - Renamed simply Croydon
  • 1973-74 - Premier Division abolished. Division One now top section
  • 1974-75 - Joined Isthmian League Division Two
  • 1975-76 - Isthmian League Division Two runner-up (unbeaten record); promoted to Division One
  • 1977-78 - Division One renamed Premier Division
  • 1989 - Relegated to Division One
  • 1994 - Relegated to Division Two
  • 1995-96 - Isthmian League Division Two runner-up; promoted to Division One
  • 1999-00 - Isthmian League Division One Champions; promoted to Premier Division; Isthmian League Cup Winners (vs. Purfleet (now East Thurrock United)); Surrey Senior Cup Runners-up (vs. Woking)
  • 2002 - London Senior FA Cup Winners (Vs. Dulwich Hamlet)
  • 2002 - Relegated to Division One South
