The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes, by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The Universiade is often referred to in English as the World University Games.

Future Universiades

The bid process for the selection of the host cities of the 2009 Universiades is closed. The choice was announced on January 10, 2005. Belgrade and Harbin have been selected.
