Welcome back

Hi Kimchi, this is for the MysticIndia.jpg you've marked for deletion. Would an email from their official website (info@Mysticindia.com) be ok as permission to use their image? wildT 11:39, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, don't do it because you feel guilty, if it weren't for the breaks, you probably would be #3 on that delete charts, and could have done 3-4% of the work yourself. You should be proud of your contribution, it's everyone else who needs to lift. User:Dragons_flight/deleterlist. Is your RL workload in order? Frivolous AfD by single purpose puppet or vandal

Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bruce McMahan (2nd nomination). You closed the last AfD and a sock or vandal has nominated it again. What do you think?

Thanks.

Spam pages with nonsense titles

For pages with "=" in the title, you *should* be able to use the protectedtitle template by putting "1=" before the first parameter in the template call. --- RockMFR 03:36, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

B-2 pic

Sorry, I guess I didn't check the close enough. From its history it had looked to me like you had just deleted the image and then uploaded it again, erasing the history. I only want to preserve my edit history, but if the image exists at commons and can still be a featured pic here, then by all means re-delete (or can it be transwikied?). - Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 00:27, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD on CMSimple

I have made a note at the AfD to correct your error about your Google search. Your original search leaves out a lot of hits that the same search on Google.com returns. Your search uses "num=100" in the URL, which limits the search to only return the first 100 hits, which is not what you intended. Took me a bit of work to figure out what went wrong! - grubber 19:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for that. I am a bit clueless about deleting pages. I was reverting vandalism but only afterwards realised that the article page didn't exist. But now I know what to do, so thanks! Belovedfreak 10:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My Deleted Article

i exist daylight mankind who accompany myself by no means travels on ignorance however manages daylight career

Ego sum lux mundi qui sequitur me non ambulabit in tenebris sed habebit lucem vitae

Hmmm, I guess you didn't like my little article. I found the latin phrase someplace, and thought it was interesting, but couldn't find much mention of it anywhere. So I wrote that article. Not a big deal to me that it's gone. But what's not noteworthy of what's said to stop the stoning, a scene that is a fairly important and really quite well known? From comments, even some of the "delete" folks had some interest in it. It's been up there for a few months, and it only got 5 days on the chopping block? Ah, such is as it is.

On the one hand, I wonder, for such a harmless little background on a famous happening, don't you have anything better to do than find things like that and make it a point to remove it? I mean, it's not that it had no worth and it's not like I didn't spend any time on it. Why you hatin'?  :)

On another hand, I can see how having every "interesting" thing like that having its own article could get way out of control - I understand that. (Although I think the chances of others doing that on a large scale basis are rather slim.)

On yet another hand (I have 4) there's a lot of less important or less interesting articles around that seem to stay. But I see from the talk page, the "delete" people have spoken -- and their answer was "delete".

Well, good luck with everything. Sln3412 19:07, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Su061.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Su061.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Please do not delete Rachel Zevita's article.

You ask if being eliminated from American Idol is what is considered to be notable. Allow me to remind you that tomorrow night, an eliminated contestant from American Idol is up for an Oscar. Rachel Zevita is unique for the fact that she received just a few minuted of airtime, but caught the attention of thousands of people. If it was simply that, I would agree with you that she is not worthy, but when you consider her classical training at LaGuardia High School and other achievements, she is more than just an eliminated contestant. Did you know that only 66 out of the more than one thousand students who apply to LaGuardia are accepted every year? Check out their website if you do not believe me. Rachel has offers from several music producers and record labels. New York bands are asking her to sing with them live and on their albums.

To sum up my point, Rachel Zevita has already surpassed every other eliminated American Idol contestant who did not get on the live show and that makes her unique and yes, notable. Her achievements thus far make her accomplished. Finally, she has a lot of potential and deserves the chance to prove this before you delete her page. Please give her some time and just see how many people respond to her page and how much is added in the next 6 months. Thank you for your consideration. Michael Moellering 'Moellering2007'

Getting an Oscar makes one notable. Being voted out of American Idol, however, doesn't. If she does satisfy at least one criteria of WP:MUSIC, good for her; otherwise, no article. Awyong J. M. Salleh 08:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shortcut

1. What does this have to do with WIkipedia:Protected titles?
2. Assuming that there is a logical connection, that only means that the shortcut should exist (in case someone types it), not that it should appear on the page. The idea isn't to document every shortcut that exists. (There's at least one other.) It's to provide a convenient one for people who already have reached the page. —David Levy 15:56, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Juping is the IRC operator's way to prevent channels with undesirable names from being created - anyone who creates (joins) one will get directed to a central channel of the operators' choosing. It's identical to the concept here.
Convenient != short (not all the time). Some people will prefer shortcuts that they can pronounce. Awyong J. M. Salleh 16:01, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, you might find this WIKIPEDIA article a hoax, but we are serious about this movie. It is still being planned but in the meanwhile, we are working to get as much publicity and information about it as possible to the public. If you wouldn't mind calling it a hoax and preparing it for deletion, we would really appreciate it. It is recieving more view daily thanks to myspace.com and we will be thanking WIKIPEDIA most certainly for it, unless administrators should delete it. Please let us keep our article, or we will feel free to start a petition, not to threat. Thank you.

railzone australia page deletion

Hello I was informed by someone that the RailZone Australia wikipedia page was deleted. I've had a look and indeed it has.

I'm curious to know why the page was created since it was honest, factual, and did not infringe on anyone else's rights, etc.

As you know, there is massive debate going on about RailPage Australia, and I've copped a massive amount of harrassment because RailZone Australia has web-forums which are assumed by many to be in 'competition' with RailPage Australia, and I am constantly deleting spam registrations from the RailZone Australia forums to keep the forums clean, relevant, and informative to the railway enthusiast community (mostly in Australia, but I happily accept legitimate members from everywhere).

Would you please send me the text of the deleted RailZone Australia page so that I can edit it and re-submit it? I would like to know if you deleted the page simply because of your own wiki 'superuser' access flagging it for some sort of special review, or if people who support RailPage Australia used the standard wiki facilities to request that the RailZone Australia page be removed?

I am totally 100 percent against the garbage that's going on with the RailPage Australia debate - and if you look in the talk page for RailPage Australia you'll see that I posted some comments which about the debate and that might be what triggered pro-RailPage people to attept to have the RailZone Australia page removed from wikipedia...

Thankyou for considering my requests and comments.

Regards,

Craig. Zonavar 08:47, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You reverted one of my recent edits on the page My Boss (scrubs episode); I'm just posting here to explain that I'm going to re-delete it. It's baseless conjecture, as I found nothing to verify it. In fact, the season order by NBC contradicts the information provided. Whereas this is a 23-episode season, that suggests episode 17 is the last episode. It's clearly invention. 209.6.218.78 03:59, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think Alfredo is back. Look at the contributions for User:R.bobby[3]. This user seems to have the same issues with images and same type of edits to Celebrity Death Match and addition of pictures to celebrity articles. I'm sure that you can see more similarities. Hmm... if it's really him, it's the first time I see him using the {{unblock}} template. I'll watch him. (Actually I see Grandmasterka already warned him repeatedly, so even if he isn't related to Alfred, he's close to being blocked.) Awyong J. M. Salleh 14:38, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is this edit enough[4] to block him? He added a picture that had originally been uploaded by User:Alfredosolis(Image:CDMVG.jpg). Unless this user has been actively going through the archives to look for this pic, I think this proves that they are the same person. On the same note, is there anything else that can be done to stop Alfredo? Even if this sock is blocked, he'll just get another one. Gdo01 03:37, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hate to bother you again but Alfredo has gotten another sock: User:J.Gome. Check out the user creation time: [5], its on the same day as your block [6]. He's creating a Wikiproject page that has not approved or voted on. Meanwhile, I've found out his IP is User:24.5.197.237[7]. I guess nothing can really be done now but watch these two. Gdo01 06:01, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Muhammad's image again...?

Hello! Can you try explaining to Zikrullah why we cannot allow forks of Muhammad to "maintain his Islamicity"? See Muhammad saw and Talk:Muhammad saw for his reasoning. I believe that someone knowledgeable should explain to him the incorrectness of his actions; a block would be too extreme if he remains ignorant of why doing things like he does is wrong. And when it comes to Islamic things you're the first "someone knowledgeable" I can think of, hence this note. Regards, Awyong J. M. Salleh 09:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RFCU and clerks

Greetings! A recent change has been made in the clerking system at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser. There are no longer any obstacles to editors who wish to help out in this areas, as the standby list has now been deprecated. You were listed as a volunteer on the standby list before it was deprecated. If you are still interested in helping out in this area, please:

  • Consider adding yourself to the list of active clerks at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Clerks.
  • In helping, please make sure you follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Procedures as it is very important to the process there to follow these instructions for smooth operation.
  • Please remember "Trust between the clerks and the checkusers is essential. Clerks who persistently make problematic comments on requests or otherwise violate decorum may be asked by the checkusers to cease contributing here."
  • Add Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Clerks/Noticeboard to your watchlist to stay up to do date on the latest communications happening regarding this role.
  • "Be aware that this position is rather dull and carries no particular prestige; status-seeking will not be looked upon kindly."

UNDELETE RACHEL ZEVITA'S ARTICLE!!!

I find it amazing that you rushed this article through to deletion and quickly blocked it. She recently had a music video posted on Entertainment Weekly.com. And has just recieved a recording contract. You stated that she is not notable and did not meet a single criteria on WP:MUSIC. may I point out to you, the following are quotes from that article:

Important note: Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion.

Please note that the failure to meet any of these criteria does not mean an article must be deleted;

Has won or placed in a major music competition.

Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, the EW.com video and her feature in the special features on the "FAME" dvd

in any case...she is clearly eligible for at least a stub. I don't understand why you went on this crusade to delete her article and call her un-noteworthy because she was an eliminated contestant on American Idol. More people know about her than know about you. So she's obviously fricken notable. Now she has a performance on EW.com to prove it. undelete her article. how much more does she have to do to embarass you into putting her page up? this rushed deletionism is not what Wikipedia is about. What gives you the right to block her article's re-issue-it is obviously not being posted by spam bots. Every week you leave her page up, something will be added to it. That's more than I can say for some artists that have stubs.

Robyn Troupe was eliminated and got her article after winning the grammy moment contest. What if the grammy contest aired two months later than it did, robyn's article would have been deleted a million times too, right? Rachel was not so lucky with timing, but it proves that you rushed and botched up.

also, to quote you: "Being voted out of American Idol... doesn't [make someone notable]. If she does satisfy at least one criteria of WP:MUSIC, good for her; otherwise, no article." Awyong J. M. Salleh 08:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

She satisfies at least two criterion, at the moment, so she should qualify for a stub.

and: "Getting an Oscar makes one notable..." do you know who Bill Medley is? or Art Carney? how about Louis Gosset Jr? I didn't think so. How many people would know who they are offhand? slim to none. Yet since they've won an oscar they are notable....

How many people know who Rachel Zevita is. and yet, to you, she's not notable.

Undelete her page.

Sorry there is no music with this

This user would like to wish you a happy St. Patrick's Day.

deletion of Jurong Point

Regarding your deletion of Jurong Point, please explain how CSD-g4 is applicable. From the policy written in WP:CSD, the article clearly does not qualify for CSD-g4. Please read the criteria carefully. Also, I'm disappointed that you deleted the article silently, without any notification. I strongly urged you to undelete the article and nominate it to Afd instead. Johhny T: Another sockpuppet of Alfredosolis

I wasn't sure where to report this but given your involvement in the block of several of Alfredosolis's sockpuppets, I figured your talk page was a good start. Johhny_T's recent contributions have led me to believe he is another sockpuppet of Alfredosolis because of his similar editing style and problematic image uploads. Note the similarities of R.bobby's(another sock of Alfredo) edits here and the edits of Johhny T here and here. A look at his talk page also shows evidence of more problematic image uploads. Idea Mapping Wrong Merge into Mind Mapping

Please undo the Idea Mapping Merge into Mindmapping as they are two different things... and if you really want to merge them they need to be merged in the oposite direction. Why? because that is what the discussion page on mind mapping was saying and you missunderstood.

The consensus was that Idea Mapping is Mind Mapping without the laws imposed by Buzan who has defined it.

So logically the merge should have been done the other way... Idea Mapping is free of rules, Mind Mapping is a subset of Idea Mapping due to the fact that it really is Idea Mapping with specific hard rules.

So please either undo the Merge or Correct the Merge by inversing it.
