[edit]

I am Lee Barney, the creator of the QuickConnectFamily framework. I added into the 'Multiple phone web based application framework' page the development history for QuickConnect. I have based these dates on dates found in the sourceForge downloads and blog postings. I also included, as a courtesy a time reference to tiobe's first blog posting regarding the development of PhoneGap.

How does WRT fit into this table? Andries (talk) 08:30, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can't compare utility frameworks like PhoneGap to UI frameworks like jQueryMobile. This article should be split up accordingly. Borismus (talk) 16:49, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What justifies moSync/s presence here?

[edit]

MoSync doesn't appear to be related to "web based applications" in ANY way, perhaps except as a client of HTTP-based services and/or content, and even then only if the developer puts it in the app. I don't see how C/C++ is a development language for a "web based application framework", and I don't see any evidence that MoSync even claims to be any such thing. --198.49.180.40 (talk) 20:34, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wholesale Applications Community (WAC)

[edit]

I would suggest that Wholesale Applications Community (WAC) should also be present here. I guess their framework is also a multiple phone web-based application framework? And maybe a major/important one too? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.241.106.75 (talk) 13:46, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What the heck is Enterprise Application?

[edit]

In other words: What is the difference between Enterprise application and Embedded application? 212.254.73.29 (talk) 13:08, 2 July 2012 (UTC) Could someone please answer the question. I'm curious too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.137.72.248 (talk) 16:49, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove Appcelerator Titanium from this list as it's not actually a web-based framework. For reference, see:

  • this video from O'Reilly Media (~1:20: "The one thing that people need to know about Titanium is that although it uses JavaScript to make app development a lot easier than Objective-C or Java, the end product is using 100% native controls, it's not using an embedded web view, it's not using any kind of web technologies other than the JavaScript language.") and
  • this book on Android web apps ("Titanium Mobile is a framework similar to PhoneGap in that it allows you to use JavaScript and can build native applications for a variety of mobile platforms. But in other ways, the two frameworks are quite different. You develop a Titanium mobile application using JavaScript and the Titanium framework. As it turns out, no HTML or CSS is required to define the user interface. Instead, you build views and add logic only through the Titanium framework. The classes in the framework then are expanded, at compile time, into a mobile-native counterpart on the target platform. Put another way, the Titanium infrastructure reads your JavaScript and translates it into native iOS or Android code").

 Done here. APerson (talk!) 23:20, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can we alphabetize them (again?) Is there a reason they weren't maintained in alphabetical order? I'm happy to unless they are in an order I can not decipher.

Removal of at least 1 framework

[edit]

iUI isn't exactly of use within a mobile-app kind of way, since it only contains a CSS setup for copying iOS layout on HTML-pages

I'm not sure about the others but there are more who shouldnt be tagged 'web-based application framework' because they simply are just visuals. 84.82.16.15 (talk) 14:44, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Ionic not part of the list?

[edit]

I was searching for Ionic (mobile app framework) here to compare it to the others. Is it a different type of framework to be not part of the list? In it's article it is very broadly described as *Software framework*. 92.193.4.8 (talk) 05:32, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I remove a lot of spam links – please take care that they don't creep in again! Tony Mach (talk) 08:34, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
