Cleanup
This article is well-referenced but had gotten rather ragged because of the fast-unfolding news and developments. I was asked to have a look and cleaned it up. Gwen Gale 11:33, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I did some additional cleanup over the course of today. It is to be anticipated that more will come of this, with the ICANN meeting over the next few days, and the cessation of registration within the week. Risker 02:15, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Registerfly Loses ICANN Accredition!
According to [1]announcement from ICANN, Registerfly will, effective immediately, cease to be icann accredited, and must provide all domain transfer codes! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TehBrandon (talk • contribs) 02:22, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
- As I understand it Registerfly are still accredited pending arbitration:
- "Registerfly decided to file an arbitration action to stall the termination. For better or worse, this is their right under the accreditation agreement. The accreditation agreement is a contract that ICANN has to follow. If we didn’t follow the agreement, Registerfly could potentially continue operations as an accredited registrar indefinitely. So please be patient and understand that we are doing everything we legally can to protect registrants without jeopardizing our right to terminate Registerfly’ accreditation." from http://blog.icann.org/?p=85
- I'll update the article to reflect this, feel free to change it back if anyone has any better info.
Failed GA
This is being failed because it is too close to the actual date of events, and things could still change. Wait 60 days and re-nominate it. GreenJoe 16:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I suggest you renominate it earlier — you said it won't change much after the 31st so you could nominate it in the beginning of April.--DorisHノート 21:26, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Earlier yes, but after all the drama is done. The 31st won't be the end of the drama. GreenJoe 23:18, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

RegisterFly and the ICANN blog
I would say that for the RegisterFly matters and ICANN, the official ICANN blog (which appears to be ICANN's main method of distributing news) given that ICANN *is* the authority and official legal governing body for this entire industry/aspect... of the internet, is a fine source. Any disagreements? - Denny 13:13, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Normally blogs aren't an acceptable reference. However, since most to all of their official announcements are posted there, I think it would be acceptable. But this blog only. We don't want to get into the habit or precedent of including others. GreenJoe 15:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
