Tony Ashton

Tony Ashton (1 March 1946, Blackburn, Lancashire - May 28 2001) was a British rock musician who played in The Remo Four, Family as well as in Paice, Ashton and Lord with Deep Purple alumni Ian Paice and Jon Lord.
Born Edward Anthony Ashton, he was an accomplished keyboardist, who first gained recognition in the United Kingdom in 1971 as a member of Ashton, Gardner and Dyke, when that trio's single "Resurrection Shuffle" reached number three on the UK Singles Chart.
Ashton died of cancer in 2001 at the age of 55.
