Tone

[edit]

This article is, for me, typical of why Wikipedia is not taken seriously by many. The article contains a lot of info, yes. BUT its style is like a fanzine and not an encyclopedia. Just one example: Why "Johnny" all the time? He should be named "Warman" throughout the article. Others (Ringo Starr or whoever) should be named by their surnames.

Wikipedia is not a fan club nor is it an article in Rolling Stone. This is supposed to be a neutral, fact-based source with entries in an encyclopedia-like style. Given that context, it's no wonder the article has been flagged for NPOV. Jtnet (talk) 13:39, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed; I've search-and-replaced the surnames and copyedited it very slightly to fit, but the article definitely needs further attention - there's a lot of good content in here, it's just not particularly well written. I've flagged it with a "tone" concern template as well. Feel free to be WP:BOLD and help out the copyediting yourself. --McGeddon (talk) 18:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
