WNAS
WNAS is the student-run station of New Albany High School (Indiana). The first FM student-run high school station to be licenced by the FCC, it has been broadcasting live since May 1949. WNAS can be picked up throughout all of the Louisville Metro area and is known for its eclectic programing, as it has no set musical format. The students are graded on the station's performance by general manager Lee Kelly. It broadcasts at the FM frequency 88.1.
It does not run conventional commercials, but rather the sponsors and a brief message from them are read by Lee Kelly in between sets of music. Bumpers and station identifications are produced by students. Students occasionally host live programs during the school year, usually in a call-in request format.
New Albany High School athletic events are broadcast as well, usually with play-by-play by Kelly.
