Barpeta Road is a city and a municipal board in Barpeta district in the state of Assam, India.It is one of the most important business place of Assam.

Barpeta Road is situated near to the 31st National Highway.It is 14Km away from the Barpeta,Dist HQ of Barptea.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,Template:GR Barpeta Road had a population of 35,281. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Barpeta Road has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.There are many good educational schools and college like St.Mary's High School,Gopinath Bordoloi High School,few kms from it situated is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,Barpeta.Barpeta Road Railway station is the nearest station to go to the famous National Wildlife Sanctuary,Manas.
