The Colecovision was Coleco's third generation of consoles, released in 1982. What made this console special was the fact that it was designed to actually compete with the arcades. By Christmas of 1982, for the 500,000 Colecovisions had been sold mainly because of the quality of it's pack-in games. By 1983, sales were in the millions, but the video game crash of 1983 lead to an early funeral.
