John F. Kennedy, Jr (November 25, 1960 to July 16, 1999) was the son of former United States President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy.

John Jr, graduated from Brown University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in history. In 1989, he earned a law degree from New York University Law School. He spoke at the 1988 Democratic Party convention in Atlanta, Georgia. He was an assistant district attorney for New York, New York from 1989 to 1993. He founded a monthly magazine George in 1995. He married Carolyn Bassette in 1996. The two of them died together along Carolyn's sister in plane crash off the coast of Massachusetts in 1999.

The magazine George ceased publication in 2001.
