British Open

[edit]

I'm not sure what he achieved at the British Open. It seems fairly unlikely that he had no top ten finishes. If he had some they weren't PGA Tour finishes at the time and this might be the reason why they aren't picked up by the web sources I can find. The past results on the Open's site only go back to 1970 at the moment, but hopefully they will be complete one day and Littler's full record at the tournament will then be checkable. Ferrari ownership

[edit]

Why would you revert the addition of the fact that Gene Littler bought a new 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB. I own this car now and have the original documentation of his ownership history.

It is trivia - not encyclopedic. Tewapack (talk) 23:03, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not with his ship?

[edit]

"served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954"

So presumably he was on leave when he "played on the 1953 United States Walker Cup team, and won the U.S. Amateur and the California State Amateur that same year"? Harfarhs (talk) 12:41, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Added refs - looks like he was stationed in San Diego during 1953 and 1954 and able to play golf while still serving. Tewapack (talk) 17:43, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
